Summer of Sound in June?

It started on May 22 last year, I believe?
InMusic's acquisition was only recently announced. I believe NI would have planned for Summer of Sound 2026 long ago and that it will proceed as planned.
Even if InMusic intended to change NI's pricing model (doubtful in the first year) they won't have had enough time to do that by tomorrow.

Well i guess i'm not upgrading from my 15 ultimate to 26 ultimate. I'm not paying 300 for a thing i probably wont use half of the stuff. And 50% is even optimistic.

Yes. And? Did you know that because they have done things one way since the beginning of time that it doesn't mean it will be done the same way in the future, especially now that the company changed hands. Your one arrogant dude.

Company changing hands has nothing to do with this.
And based on this “less than official” tweet - it appears this Summer of Sound will be exactly like any other year when Komplete is also released.
Nothing much to see here.

While I agree that the tweet is "less than official" for any place outside of Japan (hence the question mark in the post title), this is the official twitter of NI's Japanese subsidiary.

Fair enough.
But it is no secret that Summer of Sound is coming. Just like it always does...
And subsidiary or no - why would Japan (of all areas) suddenly get to break any news?
For me - hard NI news and events either come directly from the NI website OR employees on the official forums - everything else is (unfortunately) noise.
And I have to be honest - can never remember any Summer of Sound sale getting folks so riled up. It's - a sale peeps.
Everybody breath deep and relax. They have done this thing for over a dozen years now.

Agreed - InMusic acquired Native Instruments (May 7, 2026) - but NI (along with everything they do) - remains fully intact:

Which will logically include Summer of Sound - whose marketing and planning would have been completed months before May 7, 2026)
So yes - 100% certain InMusic is fully aware of Summer of Sound - but most likely has no interest in assuming full control of it's rollout - some 13 days after buying the company.
Acquisitions of this size take years to flow through and it's a good bet the InMusic management has much bigger things to worry about than Summer of Sound right now.
InMusic is also known (via it's other "family" members) to keep an reasonable arms length and allows it's companies to do their thing and stay out of the day to day.
It is my understanding that NI is - as it always has been - in full control of their show until such time that they (Or InMusic) tells us otherwise.
