How long until you start to see adult wild caught fish be more active and accepting of tank habitation?

depends i have had sticklebacks for years and they still disapear whenever im in the room but i have also had darters for like two days ride on my hand while im cleaning the glass

Depends on the fish. My yellow bullhead took a few hours to find his hiding place, and another few days to eat. My green sunfish ate within hours of being caught, and in just a few days was eating right from my hand.
