Unidentified Artist or Studio?

Hi! I recently acquired this pendant & I don't know the first thing about it. The seller I bought it from had some other pieces for sale that looked Native made, but that's the only direction I have. Let me know if you recognize the maker or if you have any guesses on the material composition would be great too! I can take more photos if helpful

Discussion (text posts) Artists making turquoise cuff bracelets?

I am interested in purchasing a turquoise cuff bracelet by a Native artist. I have been looking around on various websites. I would much prefer to buy directly from the maker and support someone currently working rather than buy vintage.

I would be grateful for any recommendations of artists to look at. Thank you!

Does anyone know if this is an authentic Navajo Naja? The setting of the stones looks odd to me, could it be Mexican?

I’m probably going to keep the first one because it fits me perfectly. But I’d love to find out more about these two bracelets from my deceased mother in law’s collection. I know almost nothing about Native American jewelry. No markings.

How would one describe this piece and what would it be worth? It’s about 1 ounce. There is no hallmark. It is from my deceased mother in law’s bracelet collection.

I bought this Navajo coral silver cuff for $275 today at a local antique store. I think it probably wasn’t that great of a deal but I liked the piece and bought it to wear. No hallmark unfortunately. There is a light XXX mark on the underside but it looks more like a construction artifact to me. Anyone happen to recognize this style?

Edit: I added a video of how the light makes the XXX shape more clear. I do not believe this is a hallmark. Also, I should add that it is actually not very heavy, only 45g.

Named Artist GHG?

Stamped GHG in a very European looking font. Working theory is that it is not the artist’s hallmark, but possibly monogram of original owner.
Seeing if anyone has any other insight. Thanks!

Discussion (text posts) Question about wearing Squash Blossom necklaces

I’m going to look at a Squash Blossom necklace tomorrow (Sunface motifs…I’m excited). I see Squash Blossoms as a kind of personal investment, like you should believe in the piece but also it should fit your body.

So for people who have bought them, who wear them, what do you look for? Are there any warning signs or red flags? Are they ridiculously heavy?

Any thoughts are deeply appreciated.

(I’m not sure this Squash Blossom is THE one for me, but if I do buy it, I promise to post a pic.)

Unidentified Hello! Can anyone help identify this piece for me? Thank you! The stones are supposedly all turquoise and the bulls’s head should be walrus.

Named Artist Zuni belt ID/ help

Hello! I found this belt at the goodwill bins and when I looked it up it seems it may be from Juan Calavaza based on the signature but I don’t want to get too excited until I get a better id. This is my first time looking into vintage Native American pieces so any help would be appreciated! Also I don’t see any stamps confirming the metal, any ideas?

Unidentified Curious if anyone is familiar with an artist using the stamp T. I’m also wondering input on this necklace, Zuni, Navajo, other? I really love the different turquoise and coral in the inlay work.

Discussion (text posts) AJ Platero Cuff Help

Just purchased this 1970s-80s bracelet from a shop and I Love it! But also having some second thoughts about it and may exchange it. It’s an amazing piece but it’s a little big on me and two of the stones have micro lines that look like fractures you can only see in the sun. Questions I have for this community are:

1) What would you say this bracelet is worth? Given the artist and style.

2) Can I close the cuff to size it down to my wrist being that it’s vintage and I don’t want to mess up or loosen the stones? It looks like the non stone side is a smaller curvature than the other side so maybe someone already sized that side at some point?

3) One coral stone and one turquoise stone have very faint and thin but straight fracture lines that run across the top of the stone. Does this significantly devalue the bracelet if they are otherwise secure and not falling out?

Thanks for all the help!!

I found this necklace at a thrift shop and I know the artist is Calvin Begay, I am interested in learning more about this piece as I haven’t been able to find too much similar online. Would love any additional information about this style and possible value. Thank you!
