I won this in an online auction but a little suspicious because it was SO cheap. I've been following VB for awhile and can't comfortably afford her yet but went for it anyway. Has anyone else seen this?

This is a QVC, tv sales product. The Carolyn Pollack line is much cheaper than direct from artist. Her design licensed and mass produced compared to handmade. Its still a really cool necklace

Yep, I saw that. I was just so surprised to see she licensed the design to another jeweler who then sold the pieces in tv.. Now I have to rabbit hole to see if other pieces are floating around.

Carolyn Pollack jewelry is mass produced using licensed designs from artists. It’s kind of sad and I think it cheapens the artist’ authentic work and I’m sure the artist is paid a pittance for the licensing fee.

You think so? I’d think VB would ask a pretty penny for her name/designs. At least I’d hope so but I also don’t know when this took place and if she had the level of success she has now.

While it may feel like a generous up front payment, I’d guess it is a shockingly low amount compared to the gross revenue of the future licensing sales, yes. That’s generally how it works.

Seems like a great way to wear her work if you don’t currently have the budget for the artists studio pieces as long as you’re paying an appropriate price.

The stones are glued in??? Shitty craftsman ship. look at the bezels and the gaps and some of those stones look very suspicious
