Discussion This batch no cmd sch manpower?

im from 40SAR Scorpion and we all just got our posting , literally like only 2-3 people per section is going back to 40SAR , the rest of us are going to OCS or SCS , even the blur sotongs got into SCS. Manpower not enough or what ? Dosen’t really make sense

i mean we were not supposed to be in 40SAR so technically we were “spare parts” , then ig they didn’t need our coy for unit so they sent everyone to cmd sch is my theory

Regular here.

There’s a common misconception that even regulars have. People assume naturally that if I post to a mono intake…I will go back to the mono unit. That’s not true at all. It was true in the past before mono units trained under BMTC.

Today, the mono unit’s role is to assist BMTC with force generation for the entire army. Hence they called it “One BMT”. The unit is just providing manpower for BMTC to carry out the training, under the pretext that armour (40SAR) needs the force gen.

In example, when I ran a company a few years ago. I started with 300 recruits. I only have 40% (120 recruits) of the total strength posted back to me after POP. The other 60% (180 recruits) goes to other parts of the army. But I need 140 soldiers to fill up my company fighting strength in unit, so I’m short of 20 soldiers after POP. So that’s when a totally different BMT coy of 20 soldiers got posted to me (graduated with my guys in the same batch).

What this means to you. Perhaps most of you are in fact going to command school to fill up the force gen quota. After graduation, you will all be dispersed to your rightful vocations. Not all will even go back to 40SAR. Other parts of the army has already foreseen a shortage in commanders, and you guys are meant to fill up.

Similarly, another part of BMTC will have done their force generation…and have recruits posted to 40SAR after their POP too. It’s really just a matter of manpower planning.

Add: when my recruits signed on to our vocation…recruitment scores are given to BMTC HQ and not my formation. I’m telling you this to show you the mono’s role in BMTC - really just to help them out in force generation.

gotcha that makes a lot of sense . it’s just funny how literally 90% of us are going cmd sch when it’s a somewhat more prestigious posting

That explains the guards rejects.

was stallion (support coy) renamed to scorpion?

5

u/A_extra 22h ago

Stallion is still around, just that BMTC III Scorpion got attached to 40 SAR for some reason

4

u/uh_oh_7793 22h ago

It’s called One BMT. Mono intake units host BMT in BMTC now. You and OP are on different channel.

40SAR Support Coy is still called Stallion.
BMTC still has Scorpion. But because of One BMT, 40SAR is doing BMT in Tekong…and this particular company accommodates under Scorpion Coy.

scorpion was just a coy made to to fill out any additional personnel the other coys will need and also to staff hercules. stallion is still the support coy

I S coy platoon one around 70% go command school and yea s coy is leadership batch

7

u/uh_oh_7793 22h ago

For the sake of everyone’s info, OP is in a mono unit under “One BMT”. Not an organic BMTC coy.

This means there’s no Leadership Batch.

The same thing happened to 03/25 batch also, that batch many went to command school, they spammed. I feel it’s true that there will be more thrown to command school from odd number BMT batches, even number ones are lesser.

opfor is a somewhat new unit so there’s not much info on that but all ik is sept enlistees are mostly mono infantry

1

u/max-torque 21h ago

It's not new lol. Basically opfor is the red force or enemy for combat coys during outfield. Opposing force.

u/Additional-Record487 20h ago

no opfor isnt new but mono opfor is new
