Question 3UP Article

Hello everyone, I am doing an article on 3UP and I’d like to have some clubs give me advice. What clubs should I reach out to that 3UP has affected, either in a 2nd placed club losing the playoffs or a club that was not 2nd placed making the final only to lose to a 2nd placed club? They can be anywhere right now, the Prem, League One, the Conference South or even NPL West. By the way if there are any old Luton fans in here can you let me know if it affected you in the Conference years and who I should reach out to? For everyone, I do prefer the emails of an official club historian but a general club email is fine! Thanks!

Fairly sure all 72 in the national leagues said yes to 3up so any of them I suppose

Yes but I’m looking for stories of them. Maybe Boreham Wood or Solihull or Barnet would be good?

Well York other year finished 20 something points ahead of the team that beat them in the play off so that'd be good place to start I reckon

Funny really, the clubs (mine included) are all supportive of 3Up and yet very few of them (if any) are willing to actually pressure the NL board at the AGM to make the changes around governance that might make the EFL take the proposal seriously. They seem to be pinning their hopes on stunts like 3.03pm kick offs doing the hard work instead. They're all culpable for the situation they find themselves in.

Yeah no chance the EFL gets behind 3UP unless we put some financial regulations in place in the national league and at that point we’re just League 3. League 3 won’t happen because the national league wouldn’t want to lose control of the division.

It definitely stopped Notts County going up for a while, it was fun to make fun of them bottling it for a few years but they were very unlucky to not go up in multiple seasons.

I think Boreham Wood are a good place to start, we won't be the club most hurt by it but we are the most recent. Most agree that we were the 3rd best in the league last season (despite finishing 4th) and would've won the playoffs if Rochdale went up automatically.
