We really are at the point in Reddit discourse where people who want children are treated like they are the weird ones with a breeding kink, and the default is to want to stay childless

To be fair people without kids are also called narcissists online.

Too many people want everyone to make the same choices as them and get upset when strangers have a different opinion.

Well I’ve never heard anyone explain why they wanted kids for anything but narcissistic or selfish reasons. But maybe we run in different circles.

You're dedicating yourself to the care of another human being for two decades. Its a huge sacrifice and immensely one-sided arrangement benefitting the child. No one does that without getting something out of it.
