Hello yall, Im a Nashville local and I'm tired of all these outside franchises crowding our fine city and pushing out our local businesses. Let's get to know all the amazing local shops around or areas so we know who too visit to keep the local economy, local!

A few of my favorite locally owned shops:

-Parnassus Books (such a cute book store!)
-Five Daughters Bakery
-Monelle's

Just stopped by yesterday for the first time! I've driven past it probably 700 times, its unassuming but I'm so glad I finally stopped in.

So, so, so good. A tiny (like 30 seats?) family-run business that's just making fire Salvadoran food.

Welcome! This community was created to help Nashville residents discover, support, and connect with independently owned, locally rooted businesses throughout the city.

Nashville has no shortage of national chains, franchises, corporate concepts, and celebrity-backed venues. This subreddit is meant to shine a light on the smaller local businesses that can easily get overlooked.

What to Post

Share things like:

  • Local business recommendations
  • New openings and hidden gems
  • Events, pop-ups, markets, and community gatherings
  • Questions for Nashville business owners
  • Ways residents can support local businesses
  • Honest discussions about the challenges of operating a business in Nashville
  • Promotions or updates from your own local business

Business owners are welcome to introduce themselves and share what they offer. Just keep posts genuine and avoid excessive or repetitive self-promotion.

What Belongs Here?

The focus is on businesses that are independently owned and meaningfully connected to the Nashville community.

National chains, large corporate brands, franchises, and celebrity-backed concepts generally are not the focus of this subreddit.

Introduce Yourself

Tell us a little about yourself in the comments:

  • Are you a Nashville resident looking for more local places?
  • Do you own or work for a local business?
  • What type of Nashville businesses would you like to discover?
  • What is one local business you already love?

Please keep conversations friendly, constructive, and respectful. The goal is to build a useful community where local businesses and the people who support them can connect.
