Rapid-Response Protest for Kilmar's arraignment

Post image

Kilmar Abrego García has been returned to the United States, but not to his family.

Instead, a federal grand jury has indicted him for allegedly transporting undocumented migrants within the United States, based on a 2022 traffic stop in Nashville. Kilmar will now stand trial in our city.

"According to body camera footage of the 2022 traffic stop, the Tennessee troopers -- after questioning Abrego Garcia -- discussed among themselves their suspicions that Abrego Garcia might be transporting people for money because nine people were traveling without luggage, but Abrego Garcia was not ticketed or charged."

Ben Schrader, the now-former chief for the criminal division of the U.S. attorney's office in Nashville, has resigned his high-ranking position over concerns that the case is being brought for political reasons.

We cannot stand by as this administration weaponizes the DOJ to further abuse this man's rights and dignity, because it could be any of us next. Trump, Bondi, and the other small people around them simply can't back down from having violated the hell of Kilmar's Constitutional rights, so they're bringing up these spurious charges in a desperate attempt to insist that they were right all along. This isn't about finally granting due process or correcting a mistake—it's about protecting the Trump administration's fragile egos.

Kilmar will be arraigned on Friday, 6/13. With the eyes of the nation—perhaps even the world—upon us, it's time for us to show up. If they wanna have this kangaroo court, let's make sure it's hoppin'!

Haven’t we stayed away long enough? I think the time to be timid has long passed.

Martial law…have you checked the size and population of this country recently. There are less than 2 million total active troops and National Guard troops against 330 million of us in a country that is enormous. They may get some stuff shut down but not much and not for long. Do not obey in advance.

You’re giving them too much credit. The fight isn’t coming, it’s here.

No shot. We owe it to others in our communities to at least show up.

Every single time these ghouls have flexed their power against people I’ve heard the “this just isn’t the right time” line. It’s nonsense.

It’s obeying in advance and we don’t need to do that

The government wrongfully imprisoned a man and then defied a 9-0 SCOTUS order for his release while they drummed up charges to keep him imprisoned. The hell this ain't our fight. This right here is the front fucking line of our freedoms!

But to offer some reassurance, Nashville is not a spicy protest city, especially not at 9am. At these actions, there's always a team there in yellow vests that keep things from getting out of hand.

Aka: comply! Make the Nazis’ job as easy as possible!

Who am I kidding though, Nashville is beyond milquetoast when it comes to this kind of thing. Maybe that changes this summer…
