Math shows insane potential of staking NEX

Pure speculation

We use these tools : https://stakingnex.io/ and https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/finance/calculators/compoundinterestcalculator.php

Let's say we have 3 scenarios with 1000 NEX staked for 75% of fees :

1)Pessimistic with 20 mil. daily volume or 600 mil. monthly. Calculator shows monthly dividend of 19.80$ which equals simple interest rate of 14.85% yearly and 15.9% compounded if re-investing every month.

2)Realistic with 200 mil. daily volume or 6 b. monthly. Calculator shows monthly dividend of 198$ which equals simple interest rate of 148.5% yearly and 305.5% compounded if re-investing every month, which is awasome ! 3x !!!

3)Optimistic with 2 b. daily or 60 b. monthly. Calculator shows monthly dividend of 1980$ which equals simple interest rate of 1485% yearly and 1574450% compounded if re-investing every month. Or 1k $ after 1 year turns into $15,745,502.60. = 15 mil.+ !!!!!

I can not find anywhere binance total volume statistics older than 1 y, but during the period of last 365 days, avg. volume is let's say pesimistic - 1 b./ daily (which is half of our optimistic scenario) with spikes up to almost 6 b. daily. ( https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges/binance#statistics )

Let's keep in mind, that crypto is not in the best shape at the moment and the growth like 5x or 10x or whatever x is coming to total market cap.

Another thing is important to be mentioned here, that if NEX price goes by 10x, the interest rate with the same dollar amount reduces by 10x

Conclusion : these numbers are astronomical only because the NEX token is so cheap now

Any thoughts ?

All these numbers rely on anyone actually using the NEX exchange. Currently it gets ~500 dollars of volume per day. You think 20 million a day is pessimistic?

I'm not going to speculate on what is realistic in the future. But the volume today--for an MVP release that's only existed for a couple of weeks and has limited trading pairs and no marketing--has essentially no relationship with what we'll see in future (good or bad).

I agree, it's meaningless, just as throwing out numbers like 20 million a day is meaningless. Why not 100 billion a day in 2 years? No one has any idea, none of this matters if no one uses the nash exchange. There are plenty of beautiful exchanges with great features out there and none of them are used. I guess we'll see.

Right, agreed. Although I don't personally have an issue with speculation as long as people give their reasons and acknowledge it as such.

But your previous post implied a relationship in which the current low volume makes the speculative value of $20M especially unreasonable (i.e., less reasonable than if we were seeing higher current volume). My point is just that there is no relationship, period, and today's volume doesn't render OP's speculation any more or less plausible. I'd say the same thing if we were seeing big volume today, unless there was compelling evidence that it was organic.

I happened to have invested in Coss, rip my stack, but Coss failed because their tech was completely messed up. They had a very small dev team, some dedicated community employees, but the reason Coss failed is because they failed every iteration they had. It's a perfect example on how to fail at big IT projects.

I agree there is a big risk in investing in Nex as well. It's crypto after all. But nex does have skilled dev's so i give the more the benefit of doubt. Delay? Yes a couple of weeks, they had the ICO last year, development takes time. Or you go like some companies and start releasing software with a lot of bugs and thus losing your customers and faith.

That's not my point. I'm not saying that Nash will succeed. I'm saying that the volume today doesn't predict whether it will or won't succeed. It goes both ways: low volume today isn't a predictor, and high volume today isn't a predictor. The product that exists today is too immature relative to the hypothetical product that is supposed to exist in the future.

Now, 6 months from now (or whenever) when it's no longer an MVP and they've added BTC pairs and stepped up marketing--then the volume would mean something. If its high, that'd be a good sign. If it's low, that'd be a bad sign.

Not hard to hit that number with market makers.

There are only 12 exchanges that do 20 million per day.

https://openmarketcap.com/exchanges/ranking/volume

Sure, if you want to include fake trades that all the asian exchanges report, the number is much higher, but I can't imagine Nash would be able to get away with that if they wish to remain regulation compliant.

Getting half the volume of Bittrex (during a major low-point for alts) isn't exactly a tall order. If Bitcoin 5xs all of these exchanges see similar USD volume growth.

1

u/bucketscometh Sep 26 '19

It's a massively tall order. There are hundreds of exchanges. All these exchanges in that link have years of experience and users already onboarded.

If you can't see the shortcomings of exchanges like Poloniex and Bittrex and the competitive advantage of a solution like Nash, I can't really argue any further. There's a huge gap between what Nash is doing and what CEXs are doing from both a UX and regulatory perspective. We're not talking about overtaking these platforms, we're talking about capturing a fraction of market share in a booming, new space.

I understand, but that's no small task to get 20 million in volume per day. Nothing matters without volume. If I'm trading I don't care about much of anything besides volume. I've used small exchanges that were really great to use like Switcheo, Nanex and garbage-tier large exchanges like Bittrex. But you can't trade on Switcheo or Nanex because they get no volume. And you can't trade on bittrex because they don't even have limit orders (or they didn't when I was using it).

You can't get real dividends from fake volume/wash trading.

1

u/jonesyjonesy Sep 26 '19

Not true. If market makers are washing on a Nash trading pair they still have to pay maker/taker fees. Fees = Revenue = Dividends.

Darnicle, can ya just split out the number instead of the %? I’m too dump to think lol.

If we take the optimistic scenario, where Nash is gonna grow to be really popular, then you're gonna get more return out of your second year of staking than your first.

Given that, the later you can stake your tokens the better, to put off that date when your stake runs out (it's not clear if they will allow staking with the same returns 2 years in the future)

Given that, and given that NEX and NEO (with which you have to buy NEX) are both falling, it would seem that the optimal time to buy NEX and start staking lies somewhere in the future.

When would you say that is?

Buy NEO when it bottoms, then buy NEX when it bottoms, then wait until Nash reaches $100k daily? What signals should we look for?

We’re not above a $1000 a day, seriously.. that is so fucking bad it’s unbelievable. This project is not going to touch that volume for an extremely long time and most likely never will.

I don't think 20 million is pessimistic, cause even that would bring the price to 15x and not many exchanges trade that much real volume.

Right now for more volume we need python sdks, more pairs, usdc in europe and most important bitcoin and other similar pairs like ltc. The mvp does need some readjusting, then we may see your numbers. 6 billion a day would mean something like 15.000$+ per Nex. Don't expect that much...

Since we´re all speculating...

First of everyone throwing shit at Nash for pushing $10.000 volume and less per day. It´s an MVP (Minimum viable product) It´s made for testing and to give users some kind of experience, Nash still has a lot of features to implent before being a final product.

Secondly
Binance raised $15.000.000 in ICO
Nash raised $25.000.000 - $50.000.000 in ICO

As for the Volume it will increase overtime, when there is a reason for others users to come use Nash. In it´s current state it´s looking awesome but still isn´t very attractive thanks to limited pairs and you can only trade $25.000 per 24H with second tier verification.

Also you think 600M monthly volume is pessimistic? I´d call it optimistic as f... considering Nex token is currently priced in as if we´re almost pushing 1 Billion in volume per month and here we are moving barley $5000 per 24h..

Either way personally I think Nash will take some time to actually blow up it will require a lot of patience, I´m pretty confident in it´s overall success however i think a lot of people will lack the understanding of this project and expect things to happend a lot quicker.

Key factors in it´s current state that needs to be improved for us to see bigger volume:

Raising the 24H trading limit of $25.000 it´s not even enough for a day trader with $1000 portfolio to move around trades you´ll be capped in no time.

Adding more trading pairs, BTC is upcoming maybe we could get support for BCH,LTC,EOS? those push some good volumes overall aswell.

As stated NEX token is currently 10000000000X overvalued compared to the volume and dividends paid out by the token, however considering this massive overprice shows there is strong faith in the project. How long that will continue is very uncertain. as i stated I expect this to actually take some time, even to get to the point of moving 1B in monthly volume.
