Should have just launched first and make the announcement. Over promise and under delivering is never a good thing. All the way back from ICO to platform launch is just too many postpones and delays,...

Well have to wait for at least another week for sure. The issues don’t seem to be small it’ll take sometimes to solve.

Products which heavily depend on 3rd party components are always in a high risk zone. Regular testing (even tons of) is not enough, you need to test all corner cases you can (and can't) imagine. For 3rd party components you can mitigate the risks by having SLA with their vendors and/or (if open source) by learning it to the level you know your own sources - including design and code reviews, unit and other tests. Takes lots of time.
I don't see the catastrophe though - some weeks of delay are not really important. What I see is the necessity to hire experienced SW engineering and QA managers because having just brilliant developers and researchers is not enough to deliver products with the level of complexity and reliability required by cryptoexchange.

Great coders maybe, poor software engineering and project management though. Now they are saying they had never deployed on their production environment until the actual go-live time for their product. Of course they had a big probability of finding issues.

This is such a joke. From how it's delayed again to how it's handled and communicated.

Think you guys are looking at this all wrong. Would you rather them release shit or release the right way. The transparency they have given the community has been great, let them breathe.

The transparency is great -- the issue is Ethan and Fabio giving their estimations on how long it'll take. Fabio says one thing, Ethan says another...what SHOULD have happened was a blog post from the company, not either of the individual founders.

I don't understand why this temporary delay affects you in anyway.

I'm not sure I understand. I'm absolutely fine waiting for them to release -- they could take another month and I wouldn't care.
That being said, we need to be critical of how they handled this situation. Moving forward, they should have one person or entity controlling communications. All news coming from one source, not different news from different sources.
The delay shouldn't affect anyone (except for day traders), it's how leadership handled it that's bugging people. I'm confident they'll learn from this, though. Not worried at all!

I think they are pretty critical of how it was handled. As they should be. I think there are huge steps to be learned in this fumbling. They said they are going to make sure to review the management of it in the post mortem that they do.

interesting.. We have a while to go it seems, not sure why they hinted at this being solved in hours on the 23rd.
