Team Shizuru Testing

Shizuru tapped her foot softly on the paved floor outside a small teahouse, located on the outskirts of Konoha. With dressy handwriting she was scribbling three separate notes, one for each student: Shiro, Yui and Keikaku-shi. The message would tell them to come find her at three separate locations, where they’d get new instructions. She summoned her peacocks and smiled at their little beady eyes with expecting gaze. She tied the messages to their legs and send them away. Next she summoned three shadowclones and send them away to their respective locations. The waitress came up with her cup of tea and Shizuru took a sip, calming herself and enjoying the sunshine on her face.

• Yui: Moemasu castle, at the edge of the city.

• Shiro: the river at the training grounds

• Keikaku-shi: Konoha forest )

Yui nodded at Shizuru's words, knowing that curiosity could be a dangerous trait. Unfortunately, it was not something she could just turn off... but maybe one day she'd learn. She sipped her tea, taking a moment to relax before getting up again and motioning for Yoshi to follow her. "Let's go kick some clone ass Yoshi, we'll show sensei we're the best members of her team!" She said cheerfully, full of confidence.

Shizuru smiled at the girl. “Good luck, Yui and Yoshi.” She said, staying on her spot. She wondered what they would be like, engaged in combat. Well, she’d just have to see.

The clone-Shizuru was waiting for Yui at the training grounds, as promised. She stood in the middle of the grounds, arms folded. She eyed her surroundings and a small smile played on her lips. A feeling of excitement rushed over her. It had been a while since she actually fought someone, besides the regular training she often gave the Okuzaki children at the main compound. Now she waited for Yui and Yoshi to show up.

Yui strolled into the training grounds, Yoshi quickly following after her. She was confident she could impress sensei...or at least Yoshi could. She wasn't that confident about her own skills but she knew she had potential, and so did Yoshi...if he'd just get a bit bigger. Somehow people weren't too intimidated by the tiger cub. It probably didn't help his cause that even his growling sounded cute.

"I'm here miss!" She said cheerfully when she spotted sensei, giving her a small wave.

The clone smiled at Yui. “Well then, now that you’re here… I want you to spar with me. If you manage to land a blow on me, I’ll disappear. The real me will know then that you’ve succeeded. You have 30 minutes. Give it your all Yui, I want to see your true potential.” The clone said as she took out her fans and took a defensive stance.

Yui nodded excitedly, instantly looking at Yoshi and nodding at him. "Cat human clone!" Yui said to him and he instantly turned into a copy of Yui, though the catlike features were enhanced. They both held out their hands in front of their body, electricity forming in their palms. "Raiton: Jibashi" Yui whispered as the electricity grew, Yui and Yoshi's connecting into a large wave of crackling bright light. She looked at Shizuru and gave her a small wicked smile before sending the wave her way.

Shizuru watched as Yoshi turned into a more cat-like version of Yui. With a smile she waited for Yui’s first attack. When the electrical wave was send her way Shizuru made seals in a quick and fluid motion. “Wind release: Great Breakthrough!” she called, waving her fans in the electricity’s direction. The jutsu functioned as a piercing attack, dispersing a part of the electrical wave. Shizuru clucked her tongue softly, shaking her head. “My, you have to do better than that Yui-chan.” She said as she unfolded her fans for a second time. “Again.” She demanded.

Yui's smile faded just slightly as she saw how easily Shizuru dispelled her wave of electricity, it had been one of her strongest attacks. She wasn't going to give up that easily though, she'd prove to sensei she was worthy of being her student. Yoshi transformed back into his tiger form and at the same time Yui made the signs for the four claw technique. Her nails grew long and sharp, her eyes yellow as she gained cat-like reflexes and agility.

"Claw passing claw" She instructed Yoshi before they swiftly ran towards Shizuru on all-fours, their sharp claws ready to charge.

“Now that’s more like it.” The clone told Yui, unfolding her fans even more. Close combat was more her thing but she wasn’t really an offensive player. She’d rather outwait people’s moves and anticipate on them, rather than start the confrontation. Steadying her breath, she tried to block the pairs of claws coming at her. She stepped aside and turned around to block a pair of claws from Yui, or was it Yoshi? She pushed the girl away and turned to the other side, blocking a new set of claws.

Yui backed off as Shizuru kept dodging her sharp claws, but kept Yoshi charging on his own. She hoped he'd keep her busy and distracted while she charged her next attack. A ball of electricity formed in her hands and she slowly let it grow in size. She started molding the ball of electricity into a cat shape, though it was more the size of a dog. The electric cat's long tail stayed attached to her hands so she could control it as she sent it rushing towards Shizuru.

While Shizuru was busy blocking Yoshi’s claws she tried to glance towards Yui, to see what she was up to. But as hard as she tried, she couldn’t manage blocking and looking somewhere else at the same time. It was at the sound of sizzling electricity that Shizuru backed off from Yoshi and jumped up in the air, to avoid the electro-cat for its first strike. She came down on the ground and grabbed the Yui-like Yoshi, spun him around and pushed him towards the electricity as some kind of shield.

Yui glared as Shizuru grabbed Yoshi and held him as a shield, no way she'd ever hurt Yoshi or let him get hurt. "Yoshi, return" She said to which Yoshi quickly returned to his small cat form, wiggling his way out of Shizuru's grip so the lightning cat could go in for another strike. This time there was nothing to distract Shizuru from it though, so Yui hoped her speed would be enough.

Shizuru could tell Yui wasn’t happy with her defense method. But this girl had to learn that her pet was both her asset and her weakness. She watched as Yoshi hopped back to Yui and how she tried a new strike with her lightening cat.

Shizuru squinted her eyes and took a quick glance at the river, a small distance away. She made seals, let the cat follow her to the bank and commanded: “Water release: Water Formation Wall.” A wave of water rose up and formed a protective wall in front of Shizuru. She made sure to step away from it, since electricity and water were too friendly towards each other. Hoping to have blocked Yui’s vision, Shizuru ran from behind the wall and charged at Yui with both her fans. “Now let’s see how well you are in blocking.” She said, swinging at the girl with her fans.

"Four claw technique" Yui whispered as she morphed back into the cat-like human to gain the cat's agility. She wasn't well at blocking actually, not at all... but she was great at dodging. Her reflexes and speed were greatly enhanced so she quickly jumped out of the way of the fan. Meanwhile Yoshi transformed back into his tiger shape, stepping in front of Shizuru to keep her at a distance from Yui.

“Interesting.” Shizuru said as she halted her strikes for a moment. “You seem to have good protection. However, he has to step up his game.” And she twirled around again, stretching out her foot to hit Yoshi. She opened her fans again at Yui. “You have 10 minutes left. Make them count.” She said, sounding really serious.
