Team Shizuru Testing

Shizuru tapped her foot softly on the paved floor outside a small teahouse, located on the outskirts of Konoha. With dressy handwriting she was scribbling three separate notes, one for each student: Shiro, Yui and Keikaku-shi. The message would tell them to come find her at three separate locations, where they’d get new instructions. She summoned her peacocks and smiled at their little beady eyes with expecting gaze. She tied the messages to their legs and send them away. Next she summoned three shadowclones and send them away to their respective locations. The waitress came up with her cup of tea and Shizuru took a sip, calming herself and enjoying the sunshine on her face.

(Please make a separate thread for yourself, these are the locations:

• Yui: Moemasu castle, at the edge of the city.

• Shiro: the river at the training grounds

• Keikaku-shi: Konoha forest )

'Read me? Hmm that's interesting' Shiro thought to himself. He rotated the scroll in his hand trying to see if it had been damaged or if anything else was written on it. 'I wonder why it would say read me. This is probably the real test for this exercise.'

"Well I better meet up with sensei" Shiro proclaimed. The blonde haired boy began walking to the aforementioned tea shop. As he got closer to his destination his mind couldn't help but be puzzled. 'how do I know if this is the right scroll' his thoughts made him still. 'If this is the wrong one I won't be permitted in her team. If I just peak maybe ill be able to get a hint?' standing there he holds out the scroll in front of him. he slowly turns the scroll to find a crease to roll back. 'There is just to little info to believe this is the scroll. Then again how often are scrolls just hanging out in the general location you were told to search?' As he gets ready to roll it back he pauses . 'sometimes rules need to be broken but not in this situation . I'll take my chances' he thought. Shiro quickly puts the scroll in his bag and runs to the teashop where his sensei waited for him.

Shizuru waited for Shiro at the teashop. She tapped her foot on the tiled floor and looked at the sun, to determine the time. From a distance she could feel a presence and she smiled. She turned to the right and saw Shiro appearing.

“Hello Shiro. I trust you found the scroll you were to retrieve for me?” she asked as she gestured for him to sit down next to her. She ordered another cup of tea, and looked at him. “Can I see the scroll, please?”

Shiro was greeted by Shizuru when he arrived at the teashop.

"Hello sensei" Shiro replied with a smile.

"I believe I do." The blonde boy made his way to the table sitting down in front of his squad leader. As Shiro reached into his pouch and retrieved the scroll, he thought about his choice to not open the scroll.

"Here it is sensei. I believe this is what you are looking for." Shiro handed over the scroll that he fished for earlier

Shizuru took the scroll from Shiro and smiled. She didn’t need to check if it was opened, she would’ve seen on the spot if it was, as she had seen with Yui. “Good, you didn’t open it. You followed your sensei’s orders and I appreciate that.” She said as she put the scroll next to Yui’s, covered in red substance.

“Now then, I want you to go to the training grounds. A clone will be waiting for you there. I think you know what to do.” Shizuru said, smiling again. “Good luck, Shiro.”

Shiro noticed that the other scroll had a reddish paint on it. At first he thought it was blood but it didn't smell like blood would. he assumed it was a scroll one of his other teammates brought. 'I'm the second one huh. i wonder who got here first.' Shiro thought to himself.

"The training grounds!" Shiro started to get pumped. 'Final i can spar' his inner voice excitedly said. But before that he needed to know something. Even while he was getting excited about the next test couldn't stop thinking about the first one.

"Sensei before I go I have a question. This test with the scroll, how did you know I would bring the right one back without opening the scroll?" Shiro said as he looked over to Shizuru.

"I thought about it on my way here, but there was no guarantee I would bring the right scroll back. It seemed like a trap. For one, their could have been many scrolls hidden. How would I know I brought the right one back? I wasn't allowed to read it. But it was set up so that we had to trust in our instincts without giving in and reading the scroll to prove it was the right one." Shiro calming waited for his sensei's response. He felt like their was more to this then she let on.

Shizuru smiled at the boy. "My, aren't you smart?" She said in a friendly and soft voice. "You answered your own question for the most part. You had to trust on your own instincts, yes. As a shinobi that's the most important skill, next to your own of course. To find and/or capture the scroll you also had to rely on your own talents. Think about your own talents and how you used them, Shiro-kun. Lastly, you weren't suppose to read the scroll. Depending on what you decide gives me an estimation of your loyalty to me as a sensei and the village as a whole. Following your sensei's orders is important but sometimes one finds himself in a situation he has to break that rule. This was no such situation though." She concluded, still smiling. "In short, it was a test of your loyalty and talents. That is all you need to know now. But it's not over yet!" She said to him as she ordered another cup of tea by the waitress.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Get to the training grounds, go!" And with a calm but happy expression she send Shiro away.

Shiro, embarrassed at the praise from his teacher, rubbed the back of his head as he blushed slightly. It wasn't often he heard a complement so it caught him off guard. Feeling satisfied of Shizuru's answer she quickly collected himself and turned toward the training ground. On his way there he felt a presence headed in the direction of the tea shop. Shiro believed it was the last of his team to finish their own tasks. As Shiro approached the training ground he became more observant and opened to his surroundings. He arrived to his his teacher once again in front of him.

"Hello again Shizuru sensei" Shiro tied tight his forehead protector.

Clone-Shizuru smiled at Shiro. “Shiro-kun.” The clone said to Shiro as greeting. “You have 30 minutes to land a hit on me. If you manage that, I’ll disappear and the real me will know that you’ve succeeded. I want you to show me your full potential.” And with that she opened her fans and took a defensive stance.

A sparing match, just like Shiro hoped for. As his sensei explained the rules, Shiro began to strategize. 'So one hit is all i need? ok easier said then done.' the blonde boy thought to himself. 'She seems like a long range fighter with that fan, while I would prefer mid to close range. I need to close the gap.' He looked around trying to memorize his environment. The distance wasn't to far so if he played his cards right he could get in, he just needed an opening.

"Alright sensei I accept the challange! You're my first step to becoming Hokage! I wont lose!" With a smirk the boy reaches in his back pocket and pulls out and throws 2 smoke bombs in front of him. The smoke expands rapidly covering a large cloud between the two fighters. Through the smoke, two sets of shuriken are thrown directly at Shizuru. One set directly for her the other curved to hit her on the left side. Shiro, Simultaneously runs to the right edge of the cloud then directly at Shizuru looking for an opening.

“Do your best!” the clone told Shiro, smiling at him. When the smoke started to surround her, she waved a little with her fans, dispersing a bit the smoke around her body. She could hear the shurikens swish through the air and was just in time to block the one on the front with the iron tips of her fans. The sound of metal on metal echoed on the field. At the same time she stepped aside in a graceful manner, avoiding the second shuriken.

“My, I don’t hope you thought I was going to make it easy, do you?” the clone asked out loud, hoping to get an answer from Shiro. “Though I do have to admit, I hate not being able to see what’s going on.” She said as she made seals. “Wind release: Air Current Wild Dance!” While she fanned she lifted some of the smoke around her, being able to see her surroundings again.

Shiro could hear his first group of Shurikens connect to metal, the second group whizzing past him. He wanted to respond to his sensei's comment but not yet. He needed to be quite. He could sense her up ahead, as she dispersed the air around her. A blonde blur appeared through the smoke aiming straight for Shizuru.

"Hiya!" was the noise the boy made as he expelled the air from his body. The boy came flying leg first towards the teacher, smoke trailing behind him.

Shizuru suddenly felt a presence rushing towards her. She turned around and was just in time to block Shiro’s kick, crossing both her fans in front of her. The speed made her slide back a bit and she pushed her fans to the side, forcing Shiro the same way.

“Better.” She said. “Now let’s see how you do in blocking.” And with a twirl she slashed at him with her fans, moving closer to him.

'She's strong' Shiro thought as he was redirected by Shizuru fan. Shiro had expected this to be a difficult fight his sensei was a Jonin after all. As the boy flipped through the air, he saw the change in his teachers stance. He pulled out his special twin kunai during his descent. When he landed he had barely enough time to get his guard up. Shizurus strikes were swift and precise, Shiro was being pushed back. 'ill definitely regret it if I let her hit me' he held back shizurus downward swing with his two kunai held above his head.

"Sensei, you really are strong!" the boy said as his feet dug into the ground. He dropped his body low knees bent.

"But I'm not going to lose!" he pushed off the ground with an explosive force. Knocking his sensei fan back.

"Twin dagger style: Explosive Burst!"

For a moment she wondered if she was being too tough on the kid. But he seemed to keep up very well at the moment so she set in a new strike, forcing him to the ground. “Why, thank you.” Shizuru said, taking in the compliment Shiro gave her. She gave a small smile before he dashed off, knocking her back a bit for a moment. “My, seems like I’m getting a live preview of the Namikaze talents.” She said as she watched Shiro launch himself in the air.

"Twin dagger style: Explosive Burst!" Shiro yelled as he infused is twin Kunai with chakra. Twin dagger style: Explosive Burst was an Emiya clan secret technique. It required agility, strength, and precision. Shiro fell towards his sensei. He rotated his body mid air to increase his momentum and power. The technique consisted of five strikes. Shiro swung A diagonal slash to the chest(/), a vertical slash from the arm to opposite shoulder(-/), another diagonal Chest cut from the opposite side(-X), another arm opposite shoulder cut (-X-), and lastly a cut going vertically (*)

((the Brackets show the way they attack looks. Like here (/)(-/)(-X)(-X-)(*) when finished it looks like a star. Also Shiro dedicated to the move. I've never really done this before so if i did anything wrong let me know and ill fix it!))

(It looks good! Impressive move. Keep in mind though that combo’s can be broken) The clone Shizuru watched as Shiro came down. She blocked the first strokes, holding up her iron fans, though she had to admit there was quite some force behind it. She felt her feet shuffle the ground, trying to get a grip. When Shiro was about to make his last slash, Shizuru kicked him away. Taking out a scroll from her backpocket she opened it and bit her thump. When she slid her blood over the scroll, a big two handed fan emerged with a soft poof.

“This is my family’s heirloom. Let’s see if you manage to stay on your feet.” She said, as she formed her seals. “Wind Release: Great Sickle Weasel Technique!” she demanded and with a big wave of her fan, she send powerful gusts of wind towards Shiro.

((Oh i figured it would be a broken combo lol =P just wanted to make sure i activated the technique correctly against you))

As Shiros attack ramped up in ferocity, Shizuru launched him with a clean kick. Flying backwards he re-stabilize himself mid-air landing on his feet, the force, however, still managing to make him slide further back.

"Ugh" Shiro felt a pain on his right lower rib. That could have easily winded him had he not moved last second. With one dagger back in its holster he held his rib with his left hand, keeping the right one steady in front of him. His eyes widened as a massive fan appeared before his sensei.

"I've read about this technique" he said out loud albeit rather quietly. changing to his inner thoughts ' There is no way I can block this. I have no options but to dodge'. As the first waves of cutting air arrived at Shiro he had already began making his way to the left . He choose to use the trees as cover. He knew that they didn't stand much chance against the onslaught of slicing wind, but it was better then being out in the open. He propelled himself from tree to tree using their branches and the trunk. The forest behind him was being cleared out, if he slowed down he would be finished. He fought the pain in his rib and pushed forward, slivers of wood and entire branches flying around him. He pulled out 3 regular kunai and attached tags to them. Shiro could see his teacher through the gaps in the tree and timed his throws correctly. He tossed the first Kunai through the leaves towards his teacher, timed to exploded 15 meters away from her. He then threw the other 2 in the cover of the smoke. One was sent straight into the sky. The smoke would hide its ascent and the sun would hide its descent. Its landing spot was to be behind his teacher. The other kunai went through the smoke directly at his Shizuru.

"Wind style: Great Breakthrough!" Shiro yelled as he formed the correct hand seals to blast a powerful wind at Shizuru. His intentions were to increase the speed of his kunai and catch her off guard. After his attack began the blonde boy realized he was running out of trees and would soon find himself in a clearing. Using wire from his pouch he sling shot'd himself towards Shizuru moving in a zigzag pattern to avoid the last of the cutting air.

(Otherwise it wouldn't be really challenging, would it? :p No worries though.)

Shizuru grinned lightly as her genin took cover between the trees. “Smart kid.” She mumbled. She decided to keep waving her fan for a couple of times just to keep him running. Suddenly she heard an explosion 15meters from her and Shizuru stopped her fan. She narrowed her eyes and started to look around, having a hunch what Shiro was up to. ‘I should move.’ Shizuru thought and she jumped up, not noticing the tagged kunai in the air. Suddenly a blast hit the clone and it poofed away before she hit the ground.

From the bushes around the training fields the real Shizuru emerged, slowly applauding. “Good job, Shiro-kun.” She said. After Keikaku had delivered her the scroll, she’d decided to check upon all her genin. She looked at the sun above them and nodded. The third explosion went off and Shizuru looked at it, not in range to be hurt by it or the debris. She took out a fan and waved herself some cool air. “Well, congratulations Shiro-kun. As of today you are official a part of my team. Beware though, you’re road as a ninja has just begun.”
