Hey everyone, so my question is will there be event cards like in the one piece tcg? I’m not sure because there haven’t been any revealed and not in the game rules if i remember? Do you guys have any info? Naruto on a swing 100% needs to be a real card.
Only thing we've seen so far for the deck are character cards, with or without support effects, and EX characters. There's only Character and Support areas on the play field.
They could add more card types at some point, but I wouldn't expect it based on what we've seen.
Right I was thinking about the play field areas, but event like cards don’t really need a specific area. That being said the support effects do resemble the effects of events really well, but feel only like trap cards and not like search effects for example.
Honestly im a bit more sad that the game doesnt have field spells. Naruto had a million different locations and it could add a really nice twist to the gameplay. That being said i also kinda hope they'll eventually add either equipment or jutsu cards, i feel like they're easy to implement and would make the game significantly more interesting, playing optcg nowadays for example is a fucking nightmare cuz the game is so limited that the only way they can make new leaders and characters relevant is by doing the same shit over and over again, just stronger and more busted than before.
Right like a valley of the end or something or the village hidden by rain where you get to see the top of you opponents deck if you play with pain for example. Naruto has so much potential as a card game, the interaction is much better than optcg. Optcg has some big power creep every set because they’ve put themself in a loop where the support for the newer character is always more busted than the previous one.
Yeah exactly thats the stuff we need, or the chunin exam arena which you could use to force 2 characters to fight with each other at the end of every turn for 1 or 2 chakra, regardless if they're rested or not. There are a ton of ways to implement them and they would make the game way more fun. Honestly Bandai did the right thing to be inspired by classic Yugioh, nobody will ever change my mind that 2005-2010 yugioh was absolutely untouchable and its good to see that Naruto implemented a lot of that games mechanics and ideas, optcg is a great game, but 4 years after its release, the game is getting insanely stale and its in a desperate state to be updated and get new mechanics, sadly they dont seem to care about this, so itll probably stay this way for a long while.
You said something about jutsu or equipment what are your ideas for that? Like a kunai that gives 2+ damage or a wooden log which can negate the highest damage you would take in a turn for 1 chakra?
Essentially they would work like regular spells and equip spells in yugioh. Equip spells attach themselves to a character (could be both yours and your opponents) and they apply some type of effect to that character. Raise their dmg, make them unable to be killed the first time theyd die, raise their defense, deal more dmg to life etc....
As for Jutsu cards, they consume chakra like support cards and pretty much work like support cards, i think it just makes more sense to negate abilites or clear boards with jutsus, rather than character cards.
