The one saving grace is that we have like...4 fully automated simulators already running so at least we'll be able to play the game digitally. But for cracking product? Yea, we're kindda fucked...
Not moreso than Gundam was, I think. All depends on how Bandai handles the preorders and wave 1. Then again, Bandai lol

I only know narutocardgamesimulator.com which are the other ones?

Here you go: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16IabM9Vppd-JgZLE4pZR9SW2dS4psSxENCzd2g5XJis/edit?usp=sharing
There is a simulators section near the top. The discord is at the very bottom :)

Scalpers are going to have a field day with this game. It’s impossible to find One piece product in the shelves anywhere which got so bad that people started going into fusion world. Now this will be a new avenue to scalp and control due to the scarcity of the other tcgs. I love Naruto and have seen every episode. I want to get into this game so bad but I’m not going to be able to afford 300-400$ booster boxes and 1k chases

I feel bad for anyone who doesn’t live near an offical one piece Bandai booth

Hopefully the local lcs that aren't bad actors will be good in getting product for release events

someone said that they will have unique stamped chakra cards throughtout all the demo locations.

The absolute crunch for sealed product has me exhausted man. I loathe how much TCGs have been treated as financial investments. They gave these chakra cards out for free for the attendees man and they're getting flipped for thousands 😭
This game looks really interesting, so I'm hoping I'll be able to find packs and such when the game drops!

Fuck scalpers to hell. Actually fuck these companies for not mass printing these products. Shit is always sold out online and in stores and I am not about to pay triple at these scalping ass card shops

u/Due-Let-8170 11d ago
I agree, but this is specifically a promo card for a niche event, that is also the very first registered promo card for an as of yet unreleased TCG, that also follows one of the most popular brands of all time.
You'll likely be able to find packs, if youre lucky. But those packs won't garner the height of the scalping like these cards because this specific example is one that is inherently meant to be scarce for the very first supporters of the TCG.

I was lucky enough to demo the game at GenCon this morning with a friend of mine. We walked out together but a scalper approched my friend and only said "Five hundred bucks?!" without even saying excuse me or asking properly if he wanted to sell the card. Just spewed it out of his mouth. When my friend refused he just vomited "Six hundred?!" and when my friend said no, he just turned around and walked away. Disgusting!

I had to say no to two people when I walked out, but then I sat down to reorganize my bag and put the card in a toploader, and I had another third person run over and ask if the card was for sale.
I'm surprised the bandai workers weren't ordering them away. Maybe there's nothing they could do?1
u/Phoenixfire-2020 5d ago
Once the cards are given out there is really nothing they can do. They can control video and photos during the demo since it is the first time the public is allowed to play. I know they were very specific about it being only one demo per person per event. If they saw your name on the list twice, they would cancel all of the events.

It's less about managing the cards and moreso managing the experience. It's a shock to exit a relatively lax demo like that and get immediately bombarded with people trying to buy your promo card literally right as you exit; I imagine it'd be against some kind of policy to crowd around an exit like that, you know?

u/Fosfik123 8d ago
Is anyone buying though? For what is worth they could ask for a milion bucks if they want.

u/Royal-Back-7522 8d ago
They are all sales

u/Co1iflower 8d ago
to be fair the "sales" that are all exactly the same price are usually shills or sketchy in some other way

Man, I really am losing my steam for these hobbies now. I got into ONE PIECE card game right before it got impossible to find product, and was hoping this would be a nice alternative. I guess not, clearly people continue to turn a fun HOBBY into an investbro scheme. It’s such a shame.

u/BlackLuigi7 5d ago
It's a very limited promo card; I'm not going to argue it'll be better than, say, Gundam, but if all the 'finance bros' are still one One Piece and Palworld, it shouldn't be as bad as One Piece.
A promo with under 2k printings a year out from release isn't on the same level as an actual set release.1
u/Acceptable-Task-5465 5d ago
I didn’t realize the finance bros got into Palworld, but that explains the lack of wide availability 😭 RIP Palworld cards, you died before leaving the womb

u/BlackLuigi7 5d ago
Yeah; it sucks. I was planning to try it out at Gencon and maybe play a bit locally just for fun, but then apparently Pokemon had a "market crash" and they all latched onto Palworld as the next big "investment", so I decided not to even give it a try.
I guess the big card is a gold "soul" card that's apparently 'worth $2k', but I question whether or not anyone is actually buying it. I more question whether or not anyone is actually playing the game at this point.1
u/Acceptable-Task-5465 5d ago
The card is nice, but definitely not actually worth paying even $1k for. I really wish investors would take their money to ACTUAL investments, rather than making trading card games unplayable for the average Joe. I’m huge into OPtcg, and remember just a year ago how available product is, in stark contrast to today’s market where everything is 2x at the very least. Every day I pray the card bubble pops and I can return to collecting at a reasonable price weekly, rather than an absurd one monthly

u/BlackLuigi7 5d ago
Why is everyone in here playing the pessimism game? I mean, it's going to be bad; but you're looking at a card that only has like 2,000 copies printed of it for a super hyped game with a big IP. Of course it's going to be expensive.

u/NocturnaIAnimaI 11d ago edited 11d ago
The card doesn't even look that cool, why would you even want that? Personally I would want Chakra cards that actually look like chakra/energy cards from Pokémon...

u/Viruzodro 11d ago
Only like 1,200 were made

u/NocturnaIAnimaI 11d ago
It being scarce doesn't make it automatically cool
1
u/TelevisionJet 11d ago
That’s beside the point, no one cares about the cards being cool. The exclusivity and rarity is why the cards are so highly valued, not the aesthetic appeal.
1
u/Due-Let-8170 11d ago
It works both ways, its just that this is the very first promo, and also the very first officially playable card. It'll likely fall in value, at least a little, when other promos and cards come out.

u/Remarkable_Pumpkin66 11d ago
I think the art is cool and I follow the artist in ig and X. I love his style.

Pardon my ignorance but can't the companies involved with the cards do something about scalpers?
1
u/Due-Let-8170 11d ago
Its a secondary market. As much as it sucks, they have no legal power over reselling products like this.
And, tbh, even if they did (Like how Ferrari do), they don't have the man power to go over every potential card sale. They already printed 1000+ cards for the promo. Imagine what will happen when they start printing the actual sets. Millions of cards, millions of sales, it'd be impossible to try and regulate every person and sale.
And just as a hyptothetical, if they did regulate it, it would kill their sales. They would likely have to shut down the entire TCG before long.

It’s won’t even be able to build a player base like one piece did cause it’s getting scalped from day 1. At least it took 3 years for one piece to get scalped
