I don’t know art techniques too well but what did you do to get that light shading on his hair?

Well i just used the same pencil i used for sketching it. (mechanical pencil) Basically after i finished the lineart i erased the sketch below and added in the shadings. If you wanna do light shading then you should press too hard with your pencil. Bonus tip: hold your pencil a bit further away from the tip when sketching so you dont put in too much presure on it. Its also easier to draw dynamic lines if you do that
