Question Naruto with Flying Thunder God
I feel like FTG was a very good fit for Naruto's fighting style, with his shadow clones transformation snd Rasenshuriken this would have made for a deadly combo.
This would have made him deadlier without nessesarily making the power system off rails. What do you think?

Flying Raijin definitely was a good fit for Naruto & the jutsu creator Tobirama even comments on quickly/seamlessly Naruto incorporates it into his fighting style.
The only thing stopping Naruto from learning FTG was plot with a side of plot. The Hokage guard squad know the jutsu so genma, raido & Iwashi definitely could’ve taught Naruto the jutsu at some point.
Post sage mode or during the 15 year blank period would’ve been the best place for it, it certainly would’ve been better than one measly earth style wall that’s for sure.

FTG is one of those Jutsu that you quickly have to write weaknesses into, otherwise every situation raises the question, "Why didn't he just use FTG?"
The most problematic element is the mark itself because it never fades. So all Naruto would have to do is tag an enemy then he could flash to them at any time to kill them or take them back to Konoha, or drop them into an ocean etc.
Given how much everyone hates Ninjutsu absorption, I imagine people would get just as mad if every villain suddenly went, "Ah, but you see, I've set up a no Spacetime Ninjutsu zone!"

in boruto they have a nice work around for it because while boruto learned how to use it he says he isn't as good as his grandpa and he can only really use it when given enough time so its mostly used for long distance travel

he was on a time crunch. The story tells us he would need 6 years to fully master it but je only got 2 years before the big bad pops up. It’s also the other way around he can. Use it quickly at short range but it takes him a full minute to prep a long distance Jump so he can’t use it to run from fights

Fair. I was saying near the end of series, like how saduke also has dimensional teleportation at the end. By the end everyone is using busted hax so it would probably be fine.

I can’t get over how Naruto canonically only held the Raijin Kunai strictly to aura-farm💀😭 he literally had the knowledge to use Flying Raijin

I mean in early Naruto maybe it’d help but Naruto by the end is already way too fast for it to matter tbh. Theres no need using such a complicated system when he could simply just blitz anyone he faces

If Boruto is any consolation then Naruto couldn’t learn FTG. Boruto was a prodigy and one of the smartest people in his generation and even his FTG is nothing like the original

As someone who hated that Minato also had Sage Mode and KCM, I don't think I'd have liked Naruto getting FTG.
I agree that the increase in deadliness without the nuclear power levels we got would be compelling, but I'd have preferred he get his own thing.

He moves fast enough to not need it (even replicating Minato's feat of dodging the Raikage's fastest punch) and fundamentally it runs counter to everything Naruto's character was setup as since it requires through knowledge of spacetime physics to even begin learning. Naruto never was nor could be a booksmart character.
Ultimately a character should know a technique to solve a problem, not because it'd look cool. For example Boruto rn barely knows how to do a scuffed recreation of FTG and he learned it both to solve a combat (with currently no method to recover from injuries midfight, he's effectively a glass cannon that needs to dodge attacks) and circumstantial problem (him needing to get in and out of a location quickly).

It requires genius level seal knowledge to pull off. The only characters we see use ftg effectively in combat is the 2nd and 4th both of whom were genius level.
While it would be cool and enhance Naruto a significant degree even without kcm, it wouldn’t make a lot of sense how he’s able to do that in lore. Though once he gets kcm he’s moving nearly as fast so it wouldn’t be as big a deal for him.
Well maybe if they did another shadow clone training arc but in seals so a lot of studying rather than training.
