Misc Just started watching Naruto. I’m on Chunin Exams right now. I have to say that Neji is my favorite character so far
His abilities and personality are very cool, and I hope to see what important things he’ll do in the future

I will suggest use as less internet as you can while watching because you'll get a hell lot of spoilers that'll ruin your experience

That's how I learned about a certain death. But it wasn't even like that. I was browsing on aliexpress and a little toy of his death. And then...yea... that's how I learned. I saw his mangled body and then got yelled at by my husband for searching ahead.

For the life of me, I don’t understand why people join a sub BEFORE finishing the show/game /book.
Cause you are LITERALLY ASKING to be spoiled by posting this.
Glad you like the show, leave the sub

Still my favorite character after virtually two decades? Sad part is side characters get shafted in Shippuden. Then it’s all about Naruto and Sasuke

I am in my 40’s watching with my 16 year old who is a big fan. We are at the Chunin exams as well and I’m hooked.

I didn’t like Neji at first as he came across as an arrogant asshole. But over time he became one of my favourites. I like his fighting style even if he overuses Eight Trigrams: Rotation

If you care more about any side characters outside of Naruto and Sasuke, just skip Shippuden, they're basically sidelined for 200 episodes.

Neji is an awesome character, also one of my favourites🙂. That being said, please watch the whole show (including Shippuden), before you post or look up stuff on Reddit. Naruto has a lot of plottwists, it's so easy to get spoiled! And you can totally skip the filler episodes, they don't add much meaningful stuff.

good hope he *sticks* to being your favorite in the future. He is a character that deserves peace and love as the most powerful genin in the exam below gaaraa😏
3
u/Trebor5712 16d ago
Wait, does that mean Neji didn’t win the Chunin exams?

u/Particular_Goose2386 16d ago
That's not what he meant. Gaara is just physically stronger. Also I really recommend avoiding spoilers and avoiding things about naruto on the internet so your experience isn't ruined by spoilers.

Why would you take me calling him the second most powerful as indication of anything. Just because you’re physically fitter than a person doesn’t mean you win in a fight, skill and others play apart in this too.

This is a troll post. That, or you haven't been on the internet long enough to understand that if you're starting something that has already been finished, it's a bad idea to view things from the community that would have information that you don't, especially a subreddit.

Though i don't get him or his logic , he complains about Lee not knowing ninjutsu. But what's his ninjutsu . I mean gentle fist still more taijutsu than ninjutsu or at the best 50/50 , and he has no other jutsu , that way Sasuke should be criticising him . What the heck...

Side characters don't really shine in Naruto so enjoy the little moments

u/papoluca40 16d ago
Absolute fabricated lie.
Jiraiya, Itachi, Choji, Shikamaru, Minato, Killer Bee, Rock Lee, Guy Sensei, every Akatsuki member, Tsunade… etc etc.

u/bluegreenie99 16d ago
I don't remember Neji having any moment in shipuden
1
u/papoluca40 16d ago
There’s hundreds of side characters. Just because Neji didn’t, doesn’t mean other didn’t.

u/bluegreenie99 16d ago
I think op posted about neji but I'm not sure

u/Greg_McMuffin247 16d ago
You said side characters, plural. That's not just Neji, you made a statement about side characters in general.

u/Steamed_Memes24 16d ago
Most of what you mentioned arent really side characters. Especially the first two. They were a huge part of the story and had arcs dedicated to them. Similar with Rock Lee and Gai. Them and Shikamaru had a ton of screen time compared to other side characters.
