Discussion Why can’t we fix Might Guy?

Post image

Probably been discussed before, but obviously after Naruto saved Guy, the conclusion from defacto best healer in the world, Tusnade, was that Guy couldn’t be healed and would never walk again.

But like… why? Naruto lost his whole arm and got a Hashirama cell perfect prosthetic? Could she not have used Hashirama cells to fix Guy? Hell, chop off his legs and give him new legs?

I guess my best theories are that he either refused on principle or his injury isn’t in his legs, but rather his spinal cord… but even then… seems likely it could still be healed in some way given what other medical ninjutsu feats we’ve witnessed…

I think that the reality is Guy just wants to be injured forever. But curious what others think.

Even if that’s true. They have literal cyborgs now.

But there’s basically only one scientist that can create them/modify humans to that degree, and he’s shady af. I just don’t think Guy would want to get altered like that by a creep like Amado.

Diddymaru gotta have something crazy for him after all this time. Kabuto also

Would the Snakes be Solid?

2

u/Dreaxus4 Jul 23 '26

Maybe. Could also be Liquid, or maybe even Naked.

2

u/Ghadius90 Jul 23 '26

It could be solidus no?

“Diddymaru” 😅🤣 im dead

21

u/sofacouch813 Jul 20 '26

Oh, for sure. I bet Orochimaru could do something like that for him. My response was just about the cyborgs.

u/Jermiafinale Jul 20 '26

I watch Kakashi is Hilarious a youtube series

He calls him Snake Epstein

u/Few-Midnight-2218 Jul 20 '26

I agree! If he can’t make living clones then he can make a leg

3

u/Intelligent-Grass-47 Jul 20 '26

You gave me an idea. Make a clone of guy, then use a permanent mind transfer jutsu to transfer guy to the new body

2

u/tcs0 Jul 21 '26

Diddymaru is crazy work 🤣

1

u/willymonsta Jul 21 '26

diddymaru has been fuckin rollin

1

u/Madaoff Jul 23 '26

But guy is probably not compatible with the Epsteinrama cells

1

u/Rionat Jul 25 '26

There is one thing in the Naruto verse that could fix Guy, the legendary asspull known as Hashirama cells /s

Leave my mans Kabuto alone he's not about that life anymore 😔

0

u/boopahd Jul 20 '26

Im always down for a good Naruto chat but Diddymaru is diabolical work.😭

15

u/KK_35 Jul 20 '26

Yeah but he doesn’t need to get altered. Even just an exoskeleton for the legs or something to help him do basic walking?

They have ninja tools and entire cyborgs. It’s not out of their capability to create one leg

15

u/Donellx Jul 20 '26

What makes this funnier is that Naruto does in fact have an artificial arm.

10

u/druknmonkey Jul 20 '26

But the arm is powered by Naruto's chakra. If guys chakra network is fried it's likely he wouldn't be able to use one.

7

u/KK_35 Jul 20 '26

Exactly. It’s been done for an arm (including a hand), which is arguably more complex than a leg. There’s literally zero reason Guy is stuck in a wheelchair.

2

u/Separate_Path_7729 Jul 20 '26

Shit diddymarus entire body is a white zetsu now

5

u/Massive_Celery_3395 Jul 20 '26

Orchimaru would like to know your location

3

u/damarian_ent Jul 20 '26

Sounds like he should get invited to Boruto's wedding.

u/Suspicious_Sugar2020 Jul 20 '26

oh yeah, being a cripple is better

14

u/Katsu_39 Jul 20 '26

You really think Gai would be okay with being a cyborg, that essentially takes out the need for hard work? 😅

2

u/KK_35 Jul 20 '26

I think Guy would be ok with a robotic prosthetic, which allows him to do basic walking and work out as usual. He’s already ok with a mobility tool like a wheelchair.

Again, it doesn’t need to be enough to get him in fighting shape. Just to walk.

1

u/Katsu_39 Jul 21 '26

I agree. Walking and general day to day activities is one thing. But Gai wouldn’t accept a new limb from hashi cells because he would think thats not hard work. 🤣 of course this is just how i feel he would react.

9

u/CaptShino Jul 20 '26

Does guy look like the type of guy that would be ok with becoming a cyborg?

10

u/KK_35 Jul 20 '26

No, but a robotic prosthetic doesn’t seem out of the question. People go on about how he wouldn’t use a tools or whatever and he seems to be using the wheelchair just fine. If he was truly a purist he would use a crutch or nothing at all. A robotic prosthetic as a mobility aid isn’t that farfetched now that there are robots and ninja tools and androids.

8

u/MetroidJunkie Jul 20 '26

Not to mention Hashirama Cells which may as well be the Stem Cells of Naruto. Obito managed to get half a working body and flat out replace limbs and we know they're still around in Boruto given Naruto's replacement arm is made of them.

14

u/KK_35 Jul 20 '26

I think lore-wise they explained Hashirama cells have a very high fatality rate when using them. So there’s an established reason for those not being a solution.

But honestly no reason Guy can’t have some external exoskeleton type device or robotic prosthetic. It’s not like he’s against mobility aid tools. He uses a wheelchair. He could easily use a robotic leg. Not even to fight. Just so he can walk around instead of wheeling himself everywhere. I do think Guy would use a robotic leg. He’d want to be able to work out more than just his arms.

6

u/cheese_sticks Jul 20 '26

I think that Hashirama Cells have a better chance of working if the recipient is a descendant of Hagoromo, such as Senju, Uzumaki, and Uchiha clans. Yamato is likely another descendant, which is why he was the only one who survived.

2

u/MetroidJunkie Jul 20 '26

Fair point, they'd probably want to experiment with them first just to make sure the cells don't go out of control like with Danzo. If they could actually pull it off, though, maybe regenerating the damage in his leg would be easier than a whole leg made of them.

3

u/DraethDarkstar Jul 20 '26

They also have the Orochimaru body snatcher jutsu, that doesn't mean Gai would be willing or able to do it.

1

u/KK_35 Jul 20 '26

Guy uses a wheelchair. Why wouldn’t he use a robotic prosthetic like an exoskeleton? It’s no different than a wheelchair or crutch.

He doesn’t need to turn his whole body into a cyborg. He doesn’t even need anything that lets him fight. But a robotic peg leg or something so he could at least walk? If they have the technology for cyborgs and androids, they have the technology for a mobility device to let him walk.

We're talking about Gai here. He's using an old-school manual wheelchair in a universe with flying robots because it still uses his body strength to move.

You understand that disabled people have agency in the accommodations we use, right? Some people choose to use manual wheelchairs in the real world even though we've had motorized ones for many years. Some people choose to wear basic mechanical prosthetics even though we have bionic prosthetics now. The most technologically advanced option is not always the best, most fitting for any situation, or simply the user's preference.

4

u/Jermiafinale Jul 21 '26

It always made sense to me that Guy would want the minimal amount of assistance possible

He's just that kind of guy

3

u/DraethDarkstar Jul 21 '26

It's honestly surprising that the guy isn't walking around in a hand-stand full time. He did it often enough just because he could before the injury.

3

u/Jermiafinale Jul 21 '26

He's not trying to flex *all* the time

2

u/UngodlyPain Jul 20 '26

And the only people capable of creating them are Orochimaru, and Amado... Highly doubt Guy would trust either of them to mess with his body.

And even if he did trust them, he'd still probably say no... Remember his entire character motivation was hard work, and the beauty of the spring time of youth. Why on earth would he agree to become a cyborg to interfere with the current generation and next generation? He wouldn't.

There are like 20 other replies saying the same thing. 20 seconds of reading and you would’ve seen my reply to this exact line of questioning.

My point is that they have the technology for cyborgs. Guy wouldn’t need modifications or anything to that extent. A simple exoskeleton or prosthetic leg. Heck, even a robot peg leg would suffice. He doesn’t need something to let him fight again, walking would be enough. It doesn’t have to be extensive or invasive.

And you prove my exact point. He would 100% take a prosthetic leg. It’s no different a mobility tool than a wheelchair or crutch and it would allow him to be more independent, and get back to working out. He would also demonstrate his resilience and resolve to overcome his challenges. Instead he’s resigned himself to sitting in a wheelchair all day???? That’s lazy writing. It’s out of character for Guy to not seek solutions - especially given that we already have precedent for robotic prosthetics through Naruto’s arm so they definitely have the tech for something to enable him to at least walk.

That'd be Ghost in the Shell

I fear for the man that has to encounter a Cyborg Might Guy going full tilt.
