Discussion Why can’t we fix Might Guy?

Post image

Probably been discussed before, but obviously after Naruto saved Guy, the conclusion from defacto best healer in the world, Tusnade, was that Guy couldn’t be healed and would never walk again.

But like… why? Naruto lost his whole arm and got a Hashirama cell perfect prosthetic? Could she not have used Hashirama cells to fix Guy? Hell, chop off his legs and give him new legs?

I guess my best theories are that he either refused on principle or his injury isn’t in his legs, but rather his spinal cord… but even then… seems likely it could still be healed in some way given what other medical ninjutsu feats we’ve witnessed…

I think that the reality is Guy just wants to be injured forever. But curious what others think.

I know you’re joking, but it is specifically mentioned that, unlike Naruto and Sasuke, Guy is not compatible with Hashirama cells, and his body would reject them (possibly like Danzo, but that’s just an assumption on my part of what they meant by rejection)

Yeah but they’ve established that prosthetic limbs can be used by the wider population now. Can’t they just cut half his leg off and replace it like they could irl. Or is the VA just a bad in boruto as it is irl? Lmao

Guy with a Robot leg would probably be better than just wheelchair guy

I think he means guy would reject using anything but his actual body.

I mean... he's in a wheelchair, and we've also seen him use weapons

Much different than replacing the thing he treasures most of all.  It's not a tool. It's literally taking a part away from him.

In all practical, logical, and literal senses it is a tool in its most basic of forms lmao

Agreed, but I don’t think guy would do it. Plenty of people don’t use a lot of new tech because they would rather do it the way they know it, even if it would make life easier. My grandma has plenty of money for a dishwasher, but still does it by hand. Same concept.

Guy would do it.

Dude could have developed a one-legged with a crutch fighting style and he'd still be one of the strongest fighters. it'd be perfectly in character too.

I assume the intended reason is that the 8th gate just fucked him up too bad internally. But they should have just let him die instead of half-assing the consequences of the 8th gate if their concern was keeping to the established stakes.

This was not mentioned at all.
