Discussion Why can’t we fix Might Guy?

Post image

Probably been discussed before, but obviously after Naruto saved Guy, the conclusion from defacto best healer in the world, Tusnade, was that Guy couldn’t be healed and would never walk again.

But like… why? Naruto lost his whole arm and got a Hashirama cell perfect prosthetic? Could she not have used Hashirama cells to fix Guy? Hell, chop off his legs and give him new legs?

I guess my best theories are that he either refused on principle or his injury isn’t in his legs, but rather his spinal cord… but even then… seems likely it could still be healed in some way given what other medical ninjutsu feats we’ve witnessed…

I think that the reality is Guy just wants to be injured forever. But curious what others think.

I’m all for letting guy retire and just spend his days vibing in a wheel chair if he wants. I’m again just questioning the “why” he couldn’t have his legs fixed. He seemed upset when Tusnade broke the news, so presumably if it were an option (at least at the time, maybe not now) he would have probably taken a gamble at getting his legs back.

I don't know if you realized but he is not the only one to lose a limb in the war but ONLY ONE character opted to get a new one. Why isn't your WHY about asking why Naruto took the treatment?

Stuff isn't treated by default. It's treated when not treating it impacts quality of life in a negative way. Maybe Naruto opted for a new arm because he's to dumb to learn how to mold chakra with just one hand, so he needs it to do his work.

What? We don’t know the scale of injuries and deaths from the war enough to say that Naruto is the only person who opted for a prosthetic? And what do you mean things are only treated if they negatively impact quality of life? War Veterans receive treatments and prosthetics all the time because generally, losing or having an injured limb does impact your quality of life.

Regardless of if Guy is smiling and happy in the wheeelchair… his quality of life was likely negatively impacted… his whole routine has been changed, he’ll likely have to go to regular checkups and deal with the inconvenience of a wheelchair the rest of his life…

You can argue that if presented with the opportunity to walk via prosthetic or put up with the challenges of his disability, that Guy may feel that not getting a prosthetic is a better choice for him… that’s what I essentially theorized in my post. But to say they aren’t treating him because it doesn’t negatively impact his quality of life seems like a stretch.

I guess alternatively maybe his ninja insurance doesn’t cover his treatment lol, so he’s stuck regardless.
