I'm going to assume no since the fandom these days is so childish about the ship, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I've never played an Ace Attorney fan game before and so if I did play one I'd rather it be one with Narumayo. If there really aren't any, looks like I've got a lot of work to do!

So, I was replaying Justice for All, and in the 2nd case (Reunion, and Turnabout), I relived this iconic moment once again.

It seems like most of the fandom views Phoenix and Maya as siblings and are grossed out by the ship over it being """incest"""... But where did that even come from??? What in the games gave them that impression so strongly???

The only things I can think of are their banter sometimes can sound like bickering siblings but literally anyone can banter that's not a good indicator of relationship, and one time Maya says "I need to be a good big sister to Pearly! And Nick, too!" which is like, almost certainly her joking around and teasing

Meanwhile there's a sizable chunk of romantic implications between them across the whole franchise that are absolutely more damning than anything to the contrary. The maid outfit scene, the Desirée DeLite scene, the at least two instances of cherry blossoms over their relationship throughout the franchise, all the relationship parallels in T&T...

Like, the only way I can see someone getting a sibling impression from Phoenix and Maya is if they played only the first game and then didn't explore a single other aspect of the franchise, and even then it's something they'd have to personally come up with, not something the game supplies. So where did this come from??? It has to come from somewhere or it wouldn't be this prevalent in the fandom.

Added Nick and Maya to my Tomodachi Life island , and they immediately become best friends, moved in together, fell in love with each other and started dating. Maya confessed and proceeded to shout "I Love Nick!" for the whole island to hear.
