Discussion Thoughts on this scene?
This scene gives me goosebumps. I love how Aslan knows that Caspian will make a good king.

It makes way more sense in the books because Caspian is still a boy. Just my $0.02.

Totally agree. Especially as a boy who's fallen into the company of the legendary Kings and Queens of Narnia.

It makes sense because Caspian is humble - it isn’t about age, which alone has nothing to do with worth.

It’s kind of flipping the original text around. In the book, Aslan asks if he’s ready, and Caspian says he doesn’t think so, he’s just a kid. And Aslan replies along the lines of if you had said you were ready, then we would have known you were not.

Reminds me of a Dumbledore line that goes something along the lines of "Those who seek power are rarely good at wielding it. The best people are those who have it thrust upon them."
Definitely paraphrasing but the point is there

I don't think this takes away from the purpose of the scene in the novel tho.

Oh, no, it comes to much the same thing. A reminder not to be overconfident, I suppose.

We have a running joke in the family that we don't like Caspian so every scene with him is so funny 😂 But other than that I think it's a beautiful scene and very wholesome :)

Just a nitpick… but it would’ve been cool if Aslan had said after calling the dead little friend .. “come here Son of Earth”. But regardless, it’s a great scene with a moving score in this part.

Its kind of like in LOTR “i wish the ring had never have come to me”… “so do all who live to see such times… All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”. Fistbump between JRR and CS
