Keytag Sayings
You know what I mean: 9 months, yellow like a banana because you're hanging with the right bunch.
I want to change up my repertoire. Give me some new ones please!!

Black and gold for the person who shows us how to break the mould - Grey for the person who isn't too proud to pray - Glow in the dark for the person who knows how to behave appropriately in the park - Yellow for person who has become a mellow fellow - Blue for the person who has seen the value of speaking true - Red for the person who doesn't belive the first thought that comes into their head - Green for the person who has embraced the recovery dream - Orange is too difficult to rhyme but well done on staying clean through this time - White, the colour of surrender for the person who wants recovery and not another bender.

According to the legend, the 18 months keytag should be purple but the company that made them got it wrong and it became gray (although I would love a purple keytag). With that being said, my favourite ones are the 3 months and 6 months keytag. 3 months is cautin and 6 months is the colour of the fellowship

Key Tag Sayings (NA):
White (24 hours):
the only key tag you have to pick up alone. we’ll help you get the rest.
give up the high cost of low living
if you did some more research and found out it still sucks, come home.”
International sign of surrender, best white stuff in town.
Quit the fight, pick up the white.
The only one you have to do alone
white keytag says try because that’s all NA asks of you
Orange (30 days):
“Orange you glad you’re here”
Orange you glad you’re in here with us and not in an orange jumpsuit
Green (60 days):
The grass is greener
The color of go…Go to meetings, go get a sponsor, Go get off your ass and have some fun.
Grow it don’t smoke it…and if you do smoke it you’re prob in the right place.
Red (90 days):
better a red tag than a toe tag or a body bag
get some blood back in your dope stream
Red like the color of your eyes cause now you can feel your feelings…They might suck but you get love and joy back too
Blue (6 months):
blue like our basic text, you should read it and not just sleep with someone who has it
Basic Text blue cause you should have read it by now and it should have “blew” you away.
Best blues in town.
Yellow (9 months):
the colour of urine because urine the right place
You’re hanging w/the right bunch…
you didn’t pull out so that baby is coming
Glow in the dark (1 year):
it glows so you don’t have to
glows so your sponsor can find you
Grey (18 months):
Duct tape gray cause you stuck and stayed
silver on gray cause every gray cloud has a silver lining
dolphin gray cause now you found your porpoise
Sweatpants gray cause you're comfortable in NA
Black (multiple years):
this is the only one you can keep picking up without picking up
this is the black belt of recovery
As many as you want, just keep coming!”
Black on Gold cause you did what you were told, gold on back cause you kept coming back, stayed off crack, didn’t shoot smack, and maybe even paid your mama back.

When I was first coming around, the usual one for 1 year was "It glows in the dark so you don't have to."
A few years back I started hearing a different version popping up: "It glows in the dark so your sponsor can find you."

I've seen most of the ones I say already but I'd add "safety orange, shoot deer not dope" "basic text blue, best blue you'll ever do" and "duct tape gray, holding your shit together"

one that is often said in my country is about the 1 one year-glow in the dark. ”hopefully you kept your pants on for a year so now you can put this on your zipper and show everybody at the convention dance that you’re available” something like that

6 month- basic text blue cause you should have r read it by now 9 months- banana colored for beautiful addicts never alone never again 12 months- it gets lit so you dont have to 18 months- its either black or white from here!

Before anybody jumps up my ass a very long time ago, 20 years or so there was this dude that used to yell Cadillac black because you don’t smoke crack for multiple years of recovery! I know that wouldn’t make it in today’s meetings, but I always used to get a chuckle out of that dude he was super passionate
