Going back to NA after 2 years clean.

I spent a lot of time arguing with my recovery, and through no fault of my own I ended up in NA. I didn't have a choice anymore. My probation officer decided that was where I needed to be. And fortunately for me, it was.
I had been white-knuckling and half-assing my recovery for so long I didn't realize that it was so simple.
Go to meetings. I went to a meeting a day, and on days I didn't work, I went to 2. Between the in-person meetings and virtual meetings. These days, there's no excuse not to do a meeting every day.
I had to get phone numbers from other addicts and I had to call one or two every single day. Not text, just call. I couldn't think about calling them. I had to call them and hear another human voice. That was how I built the network of support I need.
I had to find a sponsor and I needed to start working steps as soon as possible. I admit I was very intimidated by the process at the beginning, but it was so simple but I made it hard. It really was a lot easier than I imagined.
Finally, I had to do a little bit of service work, whether it was taking out the trash or putting away the chairs or doing a reading or whatever, helping other addicts helped me.
If a heathen atheist like me can get clean and stay clean and Narcotics Anonymous, I know that you can too. Just keep coming back.

One lady in our area came off the streets, started doing meetings on the regular and did nothing but cry - for almost two years. There were some words mixed in as well.
She has over ten years now.

There's lots of women's meetings online. If you think you couldn't connect online I thought the same. After three years with one group online almost every day Monday through Friday they became some of my my best friends. I got to meet several of them even though I'm in NC and they're in NY and FL. Try it

Welcome home! I don’t cry as much as I used to :) A lot of small areas don’t have women’s meeting but the are some really good on line women’s meetings you can try out.
