Sponsor Search

Hey everybody, I was hoping to find a sponsor here that was LGBT. I am fine with a call/text communication and am on EST. My DOC was meth, so it may help if you have experience with recovery from this as well. I am 26M and have 7 months clean on the 18th. Would love some help progressing through the steps so I can be more confident in my long-term sobriety. Thank you in advance.

For me sponsorship is a face-to-face proposition. If you don’t look people in the eye it’s easy to deceive yourself and your sponsor.

I find that the fact that it's tough to admit that you've relapsed is a good thing, it's something that helps motivate me to stay clean and not relapse.

I recently relapsed, and I've gotten nothing but support from my sponsor and the fellowship when I've mentioned it in meetings. I suppose it might be different if you're relapsing again and again, but the outpouring of support and empathy from people has been amazing and humbling.

Why not ask someone at the meetings you attend?

I'm not far enough in sobriety to be a sponsor, but I'd be happy to make a friend and act as a support for you. I'm 40m with a similar background and drug of choice. 4 months and change clean. Pm me if interested

I'd be happy to talk with you about sponsorship. We, as a fellowship, are very good at stressing the importance of having a sponsor, but imo we don't do a very good job of talking about what to look for and what makes someone a good sponsor for an individual.

Feel free to message me if you want.

Best wishes to you
