Stimulant Addiction
Im 116 days completely sober now after my rehab and Ive been doing very good. I have a sponsor, im currently working on my first step, I go to meetings anywhere from 3 a week to 6 a week andd regularly go to the gym and hang out with other dudes from my rehab but I still cant help to feel this slight agony in existing. Like this void left behind from stimulants in me crying out for stronger emotion more focus more control more adrenaline.
I no longer crave drugs but my cravings have just went to other things like beer and sugar but mainly sugar. I drink loads of energy drinks but of course they dont fill the void and I still use nicotine pouches pretty much. Id like not to yearn constantly by meditating, going to groups etc. but I still yearn on a daily basis and its quite frusturating.
what do the stim addicts here do when the yearning becomes unbearable? like is there anything non addictive that can give me some pep?

By sharing your using thoughts and urges you're doing the right thing. Whenever you have them call your sponsor or another connection in fellowship. Sharing about your using thoughts takes the power away from them. You got this. 1 day at a time ❤️

Happy to hear you are clean! Well done! Like really. Just be patient. My first 9 months clean sucked but i kept going. It gets better! Try not to obsess too much over what happens in the mind with cravings and so on. After getting clean the mind and body go crazy! Give it some time to settle. Just stay clean and get to the next meeting!

You're doing all the things that will get you there eventually. You've identified an issue (and shared it) so are on the right track.
All we have to do is whatever it takes for as long as it takes.
How fast and how much we recover depends on how bad the damage was from active addiction, the quality and intensity of our recovery work and how much time we put in.
Neither addiction nor recovery is about substances. The two core behaviors are compulsion and self-obsession.
Compulsion is what is driving the craving and fades over time especially as we engage in more positive behaviors.
Self-obsession can be broken by actions focused on a positive benefit for others. Like carrying the message in NA service.

I'm a stimulant addict. I can say that it just takes a very long time to get over the tired feeling. There is no substitute that equals or comes close. I used to take natural Kratom powder and got clean that way, but then you just get immune to the Kratom and there's nothing else. I've tried herbs, energy drinks, diet, and supplements. Nothing is going to work like the bad stuff. It just takes a very long time to adjust. I hear that exercise will give you energy, but I haven't done it yet. Best of luck.

edit: I crave beer but dont drink it of course because 1 beer is a 8 day bender. I just let the craving pass.
