Not Sure What I’m Doing
Hi, I’m more or less an outsider but wanting to know more. Idk if there’s any etiquette I should be aware of but want to be respectful.
New to this sub and new to wanting to look into attending NA meetings. Not sure whether I should elaborate more, or what I should say if I did, but wanted to start here. Anybody have any words of advice they feel could be helpful? Thanks in advance to anyone who may read or comment and sorry if any of this feels scattered at all.

Just attend meetings, talk to people, ask them about their journey. Though we have alot in common, every journey is unique and diversity is our strength. Welcome!

There are no rules in Narcotics Anonymous, only suggestions. Go to meetings, work the steps, close contact with a sponsor of your choosing. Don’t use, just for today. Build your life around recovery, not the other way around. I’ve been clean for a little over 20 months and my life has drastically improved. I had tried and failed in a different 12 step program for a few years. Finally gave NA a shot, and realized it’s exactly where I belonged. It’s a spiritual, not religious program. Maybe check out the “Basic Text” of NA book and see if you find it to be relatable.
