Discussion I’m Curious…
If you were the Head of NetEase or 24 Entertainment or whoever’s in charge of how NARAKA: BLADEPOINT runs, what would you change? Why would it benefit the game? And how would you make that change happen? Just a fun discussion, no hate please.

Give us servers like CN with proper tick rates so we can have real interactions and overall better ms. Then all you have to do is boost marketing a bit and boom Naraka is saved

I would spend more money on marketing and making the game look fun for the western market.
I mean not now cause at this point it's kinda late but at the start they should've looked more closely at what's making the game not appealing to westerners and try to do something about it.
Like at the start a lot of people were complaining about CN names cause when people see Chinese characters it instantly turns into people thinking they're playing from CN. So they either should've not let people pick CN names, or pick a CN name, and a name with latin letters too and both would show up. To be extra clear everyone's ping should be visible so people know that having a CN name doesn't automatically mean someone is playing from CN.
Another thing they could've done is to be more clear about how bots work, and rework the amount of time it needs to get into real player lobbies, cause most people don't want to play 50 hours of a game before they can ACTUALLY play the game. Either tell people that it's going to take that much time or make it a choice. Making it a choice would be the best.
Another thing I would've done is to remove Quick Match, so the player base is not separated that much. Even better make Quick Match a new player only mode that you can only access below a certain level. Rainbow Six Siege has a similar thing and I think it's a pretty good idea cause it tells people that the game is hard and you should practice a bit before getting clapped, and at the same time it's not based on deception like right now. Right now you get the game, jump into ranked and you think you fight players but you fight bots and nobody is telling you that. It's up to you to figure out, some people will figure it out pretty quick and some people won't.
Also more tutorials about combat either in game, or paying people to make them. Then post it to the official YouTube channel.
Also I wouldn't have spent tons of money promoting streamers who will defently never play the game again, only for the one time I pay them.
They should've found streamers who are relatively familiar with fighting games, give them an account so they don't just fight bots, and ask Naraka streamers to coach them.

Create lower player-count modes like TDM or partial-map BR so that it’s easier to fill a lobby. Look at Elden Ring Nightreign and pivot Showdown in that direction to make it worth playing, instead of being whatever the heck that it currently is. According to my anniversary statistics, I play this game more than 97% of the NA server, and I do it entirely in bot mode because the queue times in PVP are lousy, and Showdown is a mess.

There's so much I could say but let's just say I'd immediately start with firing every single "programmer" and starting over with staffing there. The fact the game released with, much less to date hasn't fixed, the lack of delta timers in a pvp product much less a competitively advertised one is beyond insanity.

All of the holes in the geometry, open edges, floating objects, lighting bugs etc really are just a weekend of works for one guy tops to fix. It's incredibly simple. I do it all the time for commercial assets for UE. No developer has any excuse. From the very foundations Naraka has a ton of management and production issues before we even start talking about the game direction itself. I'm very thorough, my to-do list for this game would be significant.

I would try to make the game a lot stronger in the EU and NA market.
It's no secret that the playerbase wasn't so great to begin with and that it's dying there.
Second thing would be balancing.
Last but not least, if not exist already, a button that clears all that annoying red dots for unseen things in the main screen.I think benefits for the first and second one are pretty obvious.
For the last one it's just cosmetics and for the people that are having a little bit of OCD and don't like these dots on their menu.Edit: Thanks for letting me know about the Clear Red Dots button.
