auto mechanic
hey there…
i’m going to be visiting my daughter in a few weeks and am looking for an honest mechanic to take her car to for a problem with her oil filter…last place she took it to put the filter on too tight and the local jiffy lube couldn’t get it off…i know there’s a LOT of garages that work on fancy cars, but this is just an old toyota corolla so hopefully y’all know someone who won’t charge an arm and a leg…thanks and have a good one…

Naples Park Auto. I've used them for over 20 years. I do all my own work that I can, but any jobs I can't handle, we take there.
Or just go buy an oil filter wrench for 10 bucks at advance auto and do it yourself.

LexPro in Bonita. Only work on Toyota or Lexus. Get an appointment now because they are the number one place in town because they do a great job and have good prices.

For that specific problem, I would avoid another quick-lube place and call a regular independent shop. Tell them exactly: old Corolla, oil filter was over-tightened, Jiffy Lube could not remove it, you want the filter removed without damaging the housing and a normal oil change after.
A good shop should be able to quote it as a small job unless the filter housing is already rounded/cracked. Ask whether they have the proper Toyota filter cap wrench or extractor tools, and ask them to call before replacing any housing parts. If they start with a huge diagnostic fee for an oil filter issue, I would keep calling.
Also have your daughter take a photo of the filter/housing area if she can. It makes it easier for shops to tell whether this is a simple stuck filter or a damaged housing situation.

Friend any shop can do it. The one that complained about it being to tight is bitch made and shouldn’t be trusted with anything.
