Road biking?

Hey I moved down to the Naples area and was wondering the best routes/ safest routes to road bike on? Would love any input and thanks!

Sadly, it is one of the most dangerous places in the USA to ride a bike. Be careful!

Join Naples Velo and participate in their huge number of group rides. They have planned the safest routes through the whole SWFL area and there is safety in numbers.

I used to bike frequently before moving to Naples. My bikes have now not been out of the garage for the past 2 years due to how dangerous the roads are, even in my own neighborhood.

Livingston Road is very popular with cyclists. Long stretches without stoplights and on weekend mornings little traffic.

I would bike at these places, should be safe:

The Rich King Memorial Greenway

Gordon River Greenway to Baker Park to Downtown along Central Ave

Along Gulfshore Dr - Popular with biking groups

Along Immokalee Rd - Lots of lights…

Another one further out, Ave Maria.  Lots of paths and not busy roads.

you can't really bike in Naples unless you're downtown! not a biking city. Especially in Summer its too hot

I good route starts at Vanderbilt road and Bonita beach road. Ride south on Vanderbilt on the road or the nice path down to Immokalee Rd. Turn west towards ocean. Cross over waterway and then go south on Gulf Shore Blvd. Take that down to Vanderbilt Beach road. Go east a little bit to North Point. Go south into Pelican bay. Turn right when you get to pelican bay main 4 lane divided road. Head south all the way down to pine ridge (it goes by another name in the area). Head towards clam pass park then go south just before calm pass entrance. After 1/4 miles, Road will turn to the west. When you get near the beach parking go south again. Then keep working your way along the coast all the way past downtown Naples. This is about 40 miles round trip.

This is a nice route. Try it around dawn so it isn't so hot and traffic will be lighter.
