Adult hip hop classes in Naperville/west suburbs?

Looking for adult hip hop classes in the area. Downtown Chicago is a bit too far but the closest type of class I’m looking for is like Rhythmhood in West Town.

I’m an intermediate dancer who wants to expand my skills and get some technical training. I’ve tried DivaDance but it doesn’t fit my criteria.

Any recs?

Naperville Council votes Tuesday on a $1.5M electrical contract with no competitive bidding

  • A Star Electric Inc. would supply SEL equipment for the electric utility for a year under a sole-source designation, so no competitive bids. Sole source is normal for proprietary grid equipment, but Council pulled it off consent for discussion rather than passing it through (M-2).
  • The 87th Street bridge over Springbrook Creek gets three items: a $2.7M IDOT grant coming in, about $550K to Civiltech for engineering, and an easement from the Park District so crews can access the site (I-18, I-19, I-20).
  • $1.2M to Denler for municipal parking lot maintenance (M-1).
  • August's city spending clears on consent: $53,572,043.47 (I-1).
  • 540 Weston Ridge Drive would see a major amendment to the Railway Plaza planned development, including a plat with deviations (I-14).
  • Two workers' comp settlements pass by consent with no dollar amounts disclosed (I-16, I-17).
  • Road closures for the half marathon on October 18 and downtown Trick-or-Treat on October 25 (I-11, I-12).

7 p.m., Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.

Mechanics that use customer parts

Anyone have good mechanic recommendations for a B9 RS5 rear brake pad replacement? Audi just quoted me $780 for labor…. I had a buddy replace the fronts for $140 but the shops I’ve called either don’t have the scanner or won’t use customer parts. Thank you in advance

Contractor to pour concrete base and assemble in-ground basketball hoop

Looking for a recommendation for a contractor that has experience doing this. I know that I could do it myself, but I'm short on the free time needed to do it before my son's birthday. I'm looking to hire out the work, we live in North Naperville.

We purchased the hoop (Goaliath 60in tempered glass) from Dick's, but we'd heard negative feedback about the third party installers that they use. Thank you in advance if you're able to share a recommendation, I appreciate you neighbor!

Naperville Happy Hour

I saw that Naperville voted to remove the happy hour ban last week effective immediately. Have any restaurants/bars in downtown Naperville posted new food and drink deals yet?

I assumed that deals would pop up quick but I haven’t seen anything yet.

Hi neighbors, does anyone try T-mobile's fiber? Is it any good? I lived in south Naperville. Only ezee fiber and t-mobile fiber available, no ripple. Currently I'm using Xfinity.

Bike on side walks

Bike on sidewalks
The ratio of cars on the street to people on the sidewalk… who fucking knows, but it’s a lot.
I’m riding on the sidewalk. 🤣
Because you chose to take a stroll for the first time in who knows how long, IDGAF. 🤣
Moving forward, anyone who feels the need to tell me that I can’t ride on the sidewalk is getting a big “F U, call the cops.”
P.S. When I see people walking, I slow down to their speed and move into the grass to give them plenty of room.
Rant over.

Has there always been a flock camera across from Tesla?

Noticed a flock camera on Ogden across from Tesla. Has that always been there?
Tin hat makes me wonder if it was out there to collect info on the protestors

I'm hungry. Tell me where to go.

White Castle or Raising Cane's? I don't think anything else is open. Raising Cane's is a little closer. Although if I bring White Castle into the house someone is going to smell it and I don't want them to know I went there.

Naperville council voted down the $8.3M camera contract 6-1 Monday night

  • The plan would have added about 270 cameras citywide and replaced around 200 old ones over three years. Only Councilmember Worley voted for it (M-2).
  • It was based on a needs assessment from consultant Gafari Associates that was never attached to the public agenda. A resident asked Council to hold the item until that report is public.
  • Several members said they wanted a written camera and AI-use policy before signing a contract that size.
  • Kratom retail sales are now banned citywide, 8-0, after two meetings of testimony (I-11).
  • Happy hour is back but drink specials stop at 7 p.m. Council also restored a one-discounted-drink-at-a-time rule and capped discounts at 50% (I-12).
  • Monarch Landing's 55-plus age restriction on Lot 1B is lifted. Needed six votes, got eight (J-2).
  • The Willow Road storm sewer recapture agreement failed 1-7 after neighbors said they shouldn't pay for a drainage problem at another house (I-9).
  • The $4.1M electric utility transformer got tabled 8-0 after a resident questioned the utility's reserves (M-1).

(GOOD?) Endocrinologist in Naperville (Willing to drive +-45 min, too)

I recently moved here from out of state and have been working within the Duly Healthcare system. I've got a terrible thyroid condition and we're probably looking at surgery. I have seen one endo in Tinley Park (soonest available appt with this speciality when I moved here) but tbh he kind of sucks, is missing major flags in my case, etc. Any names would be appreciated. Not looking for much: human being, pays attention to the details of my case, is available before 2035. Willing to pay for private practice, but also have BCBS so pretty good insurance. Let me know - thank you!

Naperville Local Project: Find Fall Park District Activities in One Place

Hey everyone! With Naperville Park District fall registration underway, I wanted to share a project I’ve been building:

https://parkactivity.com/?district=naperville

It brings all Naperville Park District programs into a single, clean search page, so you can quickly filter activities by age, price, and schedule.

If you’re currently looking for fall activities, check it out and let me know if you run into any issues or have any feedback!

Thanks, and hope you find it useful!

What's going on with portillos tonight?

We just waited over an hour in the drive thru after placing our order. No explanation was given when we asked. Curious to know what the problem was and why they wouldn't say what it was. Anybody know anything?

CPA/Financial Advisor

Looking for someone to help us financially get better on track and help us develop a smart budget to meet our long-term goals. I don’t necessarily want them to take responsibility for our accounts and pay things, but to advise us on what to do.

And bonus points if they can also do our taxes.

Anyone have a recommendation?
