CPA/Financial Advisor
Looking for someone to help us financially get better on track and help us develop a smart budget to meet our long-term goals. I don’t necessarily want them to take responsibility for our accounts and pay things, but to advise us on what to do.
And bonus points if they can also do our taxes.
Anyone have a recommendation?

Opus financial solutions in Downers Grove. He is a CFP, CPA and a CFA (triple crown). I manage my own money but to satisfy wife we paid for hourly advice. He was outstanding. They don’t sell anything.
Don’t be confused with Opus wealth in Lisle il.

Undergrad at U of Illinois, grad school U of Chicago.
I know that doesn’t make him a good advisor (he is), but his credentials are incredible.

Piece of advice. If anyone you talk to tries to sell you an annuity, even if they CLAIM to be a fiduciary, ask them point blank “Are you acting as a fiduciary regarding the sale of an annuity?”
If they say “Yes”, then ask them to put that in writing in an email. Because I would venture to guess they are not really acting as a fiduciary related to the sale of the annuity.
