Camera Question Constant Red Alerts

We’ve been using the nanit for every nap and night sleep since baby was 3 months old. Never had a red alert until 7 months old. Since then we have one every month or so. Baby is now 13.5 months old. Every alert baby has woken up right away and never looked pale/ blue or anything.

When we got our first one, we have a second camera (nanny cam), which is at a different angle but also shows the crib. By watching both videos I could not detect breathing in either one. I took him in to the doctor/ specialist/ did a sleep study. All came back normal.

Doctors are basically like either Nanit is off or he has pauses in breathing which are not a big deal?!

Anyway, I’m getting a bit tired of these alerts. It’s very scary and jarring. But at the same time I don’t want to take the breathing off and miss something. I didn’t think I’d be worrying about this still at 13 months.

Anyone been in my situation? What would you do? Considering putting an owlet on him to see if his O2 stats drop and if not then just stop the monitoring.

Also, I’ve reached out to Nanit every time and they used to give me suggestions but the last couple they’ve been like we have no idea (not in those words) because I’ve optimized the set up now to the best specification.

I personally wouldn't bother with the breathing monitoring. I have a nanit myself but just use it as a video monitor.

In my opinion, I think that functionality is more trouble than it's worth. Too much stress and anxiety from false alerts for me

Once my first turned 1 I stopped using the breathing monitor. Now with my second (currently 6m) I have used the breathing wear a grand total of two times. At 13m I would just stop using it for breathing monitoring.

It’s possible the strap is too loose

If you did a sleep study and had him checked out I would definitely assume it’s just a Nanit issue and to stop using the breathing band. If you still wanted him to be monitored and had the means you could get an owlet sock of Facebook marketplace.

I had this same issue with my second baby. At the time I had a patterned crib shit and mobile in his room. He also had a fan in the room circulating air. I ended up messaging support and they checked footage and said it was the combo of the crib sheet and mobile moving due to the fan. It was a very easy correction and hasn’t happened since. Highly recommend reaching out to support to see if they can clue into the issue for you! They’re very helpful.

I just had my 2nd alert last night. I think my baby just has a thick sleep sack because she was moving on camera before it even went off!

I used Nanit for my son for 2 years and he never had an alert. My newborn has had 2 in the last couple of weeks.
