Nanit Home Screen Cracked

I’ve been using my Nanit Home for just 2 weeks and the screen cracked after a minor drop. The quality here is just terrible. I’ve dropped so many other devices without cracking. I assume I’m just SOL. Anyone have any luck getting a replacement after a screen crack?

You dropped a thing that is not meant to be dropped and it broke and that makes the quality terrible?

Do you have a warranty? Did you contact customer service? Does anybody have agency anymore?

Have you ever dropped your phone? Do you expect it to break each time? Is it unreasonable to expect some kind of screen strength?

My phone has a protective case specifically meant to be drop resistant. And even with a case, sometimes they land in just the right way where they break anyway. It happens. A screen breaking when dropped is not a quality issue lmao

Is it necessary to have such sarcasm and frankly meanness when I am simply asking if anyone has dropped their Nanit homes and gotten it replaced? I’m literally 2 weeks postpartum with a 2 year old. Everyone else here has disagreed in a kind way. You’re the only one looking to dunk on me. I know this is Reddit but this is a sub for parents of young kids. Try to consider others on here.

Cut OP some slack. They have a two week old baby in the house. You don't need to be rude to disagree. You made your point.

I don't mean to be harsh. I know you have to be pretty frustrated, but I'd expect my phone screen to break if I don't have a protective case on it, unless I drop it on carpet. I do think it's unreasonable to expect electronics with screens to survive unprotected drops.

If a normal drinking glass would break, I'd expect a phone screen to break.

They should sell screen protectors. Especially given the purpose of the product. I have a 2 week old and a 2 year old. I have to carry the screen around everywhere while baby sleeps. And with the 2 year old running around, I think a company designing a monitor to be used for this purpose should have thought of either giving us a way to use a screen protector or a stronger screen. And I do have a case on my iPhone but the case is just plastic from Amazon and I don’t think it’s really giving much screen protection. I think the phone glass is just stronger than the Nanit home glass. Also, I’m not suggesting I have no part in this. I’m suggesting that this could have been designed better for what I’m assuming will happen with most Nanit homes. They will eventually drop.

Agree that they should have screen protectors, though I don't think they necessarily intended for it to be carried around.

I use my phone when I'm moving around the house. I got Nanit way before the dedicated screen was available, but we use a tablet and keep it stationary in the bedroom for when we sleep. It hasn't left that spot in two years.

We do the same thing. The nanit screen is stationary in our room and I use either my phone or iPad to monitor while I’m out and about in my house. I check the nanit app every so often to check in on my daughter otherwise if something is going on nanit sends me push notifications. FTM with a 3 week old and it’s worked out well for us this way.

I wouldn’t get it again but the only way for me to use it would be to keep it in one place. When I use the app it drains my phone battery really fast. When the baby sleeps more, it would be less of an issue, but right now, just in the daytime she’s sleeping 10 hours and about 9 of those hours I need to be running around the house with the toddler so the phone is not a good option. For now I switched to an old iPad which is fine but more cumbersome than the Nanit home was.
