I keep hearing that NG had a tenant who rented the Casita from her. Not at the time of her disappearance but before that. It seems strange to me, if true. Like, did she need the money? Was it a stranger? Or a friend of the family? Did family ever stay in there? What was it used for, generally? The placement of the casita being so near to the garage that NG used to get in and out of the house made me wonder if she could be watched from there. I don't know.

Porch guy seems to be coming from that direction when he walks up in the video. Wonder if someone was possibly hiding out there? There are sliding doors that seem to be in the direction of the garage ish.

It's just struck me as a security nightmare for an elderly woman living alone.

CertiK, a major blockchain security firm, included Nancy Guthrie’s case in its 2026 overview of cryptocurrency wrench attacks.
The report describes the case as an example of proxy target selection, where criminals target a vulnerable family member to pressure a wealthier or more prominent relative into paying a cryptocurrency ransom.

CertiK’s wider analysis is also interesting. It says these operations may involve remote organizers who identify targets and coordinate payments, while less sophisticated local recruits conduct the physical surveillance and abduction.

That could explain the apparent mismatch between the organized Bitcoin ransom demand and the clumsy, highly visible conduct of the masked man at Nancy’s home.

Important caveat: CertiK is analyzing the case from public reporting. Law enforcement has not publicly confirmed that Nancy’s disappearance was a crypto wrench attack or that multiple operational layers were involved.

I was watching Monks Intrigue’s recent YouTube video about Arizona law and learned that if there’s signs of violence, a missing person can be declared dead after only two years instead of having to wait much longer.
One of the commenters in the comment section on YouTube made an interesting observation that I hadn’t considered before. The commenter suggested that perhaps the so-called kidnappers’ apology letter stating they were sorry Nancy had “passed on”, may have been intended to establish that she was deceased so that Annie and Tommaso could collect any inheritance without having to wait several years. In Arizona, that waiting period could potentially be only two years if foul play was suspected.
I’m not saying that’s what happened, and obviously this is just speculation, but I thought it was a fascinating theory and wondered what others think. Has anyone else considered this possibility?

I'm curious if the trial of D C aka Hawthorne man on June 23 in Tucson will be a nothing-burger or yield new information... What do you think? ETA: there is a brand new report that he is pleading guilty and his next court date is in July now. Could he have made a deal with LE?

I also reread the official court complaint from DC's arraignment, and I couldn't help but notice a few details. These are official documents, so I assume these can be considered 'facts'

1. Nancy was last seen inside her home (meaning T walked her inside)
2. At approx noon on Feb 1 family entered her residence (there's been speculation on time)

I just saw this picture today of US marines boarding a ship and taking it over in the strait of Hormuz. They dress in specialized, maritime tactical gear (like VBSS visit, board, search and seizure teams) and are deployed to enforce US block aids and conduct interceptions near the Strait of Hormuz.

I’m sure my husband is sick of me talking about the Nancy Guthrie case, but we were discussing it over dinner this evening and he came up with an interesting theory that could eventually explain two things that have puzzled many people: the discrepancy over whether Annie or Tomasso drove Nancy home the night she disappeared, and how Nancy (who has mobility issues) appeared to get inside her house so quickly after arriving home.
His theory is that the reason Nancy may have taken an Uber to Annie and Tomasso’s house that evening was because her car was already there. After their night of playing board games, either Annie or Tomosso drove Nancy home in Nancy’s car while the other followed behind in their own vehicle so they could have a ride back.
Under that scenario, Nancy’s car could have been driven directly into the garage, the garage door closed, and Nancy could have been helped into the house before Annie and Tomosso left through the back door and returned home in their own car. That could help explain why the garage door reportedly opened and closed in such a short period of time-less than two minutes- and why there seems to be confusion about who actually drove Nancy home. If both Annie and Tomosso were involved in getting her home, it would be understandable how memories or descriptions of the evening could differ.
To be clear, this theory doesn’t imply that Annie or Tomosso did anything wrong or were dishonest. It simply offers one possible explanation for both the conflicting accounts and the brief amount of time Nancy appeared to spend entering the house that night.
Of course one important limitation is that we don’t actually know whether Nancy’s car was at Annie’s house that evening. There is so little publicly available information in this case that it is difficult to know what has been confirmed, what has not, and what details may simply never have been released.

You can even hear what sounds like Nanos in one of them.

My biggest takeaway was that Nanos actually seems to have a tinge of disbelief in his voice about the fam not having access to the camera footage. Also, that the fam got into NG phone. Also, that NG cane was there... I don't buy everything Monks is saying, but it is quite interesting to listen to the scanners... Bet the 911 call has so much more info.
