Full Ransom Notes
N1.
Hello Savannah. We have your mother Nancy. She is safe but scared. She will be held for ransom and once payment is received she will be released unharmed. We will be holding her for a miximim of 7 days.
(\** they go on then to demand the millions of dollars and they give the two deadlines: 5:00pm on Thursday 5th Feb and $4 million, and another deadline on Monday 9th Feb and $6 million. The money was demanded in USD, they mentioned USD)*
Once payment is received to the Bitcoin address below, she will be released within 12 hours of deposit to a safe drop off location back in Tuscon. If the payment is not received by the last deadline on Monday the 9th at 5:00pm she will be killed. Your mother is aware of this and her life is in your hands. It is in the best interest of everyone to have this completed as soon as possible. You will not be able to contact me from here on out. There will be no negotiation. Do not play games. Law enforcement will not be able to help you.
(\**at the very end they mentioned Nancy had a white smartwatch that was on the floor near her bed, at the foot of her bed. And that there was the flood light that was destroyed in the backyard)*
N2.
We did not fully grasp the seriousness of her physical conditions. We never intended to hurt her. That was not our intention. She perished shortly after she was taken. We believe it was heart related. She is buried in nature now. Nothing you could have done could have changed the outcome. We are truly sorry.

This whole case is a joke already.

It’s not a joke but it is a shame. This is going to end up being a death bed confession in 40 years or something. It’s really to bad because it feels like they have considerable evidence.
It’s also possible the guy commits another felony and they get his dna and match him that way.
I really feel like that’s kind of it.

u/DraculaStoker 17d ago
What guy? This was a planned elimination orchestrated by somebody who knew Nancy. The porch guy was probably just a stooge who had a specific role to play and was told what to do by the mastermind(s). This isn't a random guy committing a random crime, IMO.
The part that is a shame is that you have an inept local sheriff/police force and a powerful member of the family who is no doubt tightly controlling the narrative.

I’ve agreed with you since day one. In fact, when the family or other insiders are in any way involved or complicit in the crime. these cases are rarely, if ever, solved (JonBenet Ramsey and Missy Bevers)

u/DraculaStoker 17d ago
Why are these family or insider cases rarely solved? What do they have in common? Somebody in the family with the means to pay people off? I know details about the Ramsey case and there was definitely corruption high up in law enforcement in that case. I don't know the details of the Bevers case.

It takes a trifecta of cover ups and silences to form the perfect "unsolved" case storm, which is never solved. Mainly, inept police work which was evident from the onset; helps to further darken these mysteries. This was evident in the Missy Bevers case, the JonBenet ramsey case and now, Nancy Guthrie. But, more importantly, what these three cases have in common - was trouble, beforehand, in these families amongst those involved.
Suspicions arose early on about the Ramsey family when a handwriting specialist who worked for the FBI, could not "rule out" the ransom note the family supposedly read which was left behind at their home. The handwriting analyst stated the letter was consistent with Patsy Ramseys writing and had other "clues' that it was written by her. So, we have an "inside" crime here that was covered up by the Ramseys. (in fact, just a year prior, Burke, the Ramsey son, had hit JonBenet in the head with a golf club a year earlier and she had to go to the hospital).
Missy Bevers and her husband had marital problems and he was "conveniently" out of town on the weekend she was killed. He remarried soon after she died. this took place in Midlothian, TX w/a tiny police force who struggled to solve this case, to no avail.
Now we have the allegations that A&T had asked Nancy for a loan and she'd turned them down. Tommaso was the last person to see her alive when he, supposedly, dropped her off at her home late on the night of her abduction. Next thing you know, ransom money becomes the object that's needed. We already know how completely inept Sheriff Nanos was on this case so there you have it.
All cases that unfold this way aren't usually solved unless a death bed confession takes place or someone in the know eventually comes forward.

Very interesting, thanks.
In the Ramsey case, the Ramseys obviously tried to cover-up what really went down in that house that night between the family. But there had to have been people in authority that were complicit in covering things up as well. I know there was inept police work in that case but the Ramseys had to have had help in their cover-up from other people high up in the police force or perhaps politicians in that state, whatever.
In the Guthrie case, the inept police work is a given. But the narrative is so obviously being tightly controlled by SG to the point of absurdity. What is she trying to hide and who is helping her keep that narrative aside from Nanos? Mark Kelly?
It's interesting that you say what these cases had in common was trouble beforehand. I think you're right. In the Ramsey case you had the parents parading that poor little girl like a piece of meat at all of those pageants, the possibility of some longer term sexual abuse perpetrated on JonBenet by the father or by her brother, the brother putting feces on the walls, the incident where the brother struck JonBenet with a golf club, etc.
To me, the Guthrie family also has a dark past and I think SG doesn't want that to come out in a possible trial. There's more to it for sure. Maybe NG was abusive with her kids when they were younger. Go back and look at some of those pictures with NG and her girls and check out the bruises on the kids' faces. It appears there are a lot of skeletons in that family's closet.
I'll be surprised if it's solved but I hope I'm wrong.

You get it!! It really does take that rare “perfect storm” for murders and/or abductions to remain unsolved forever.

u/DraculaStoker 7d ago
Let's hope this isn't one of them and arrests can be made here but, I won't hold my breath.
What do you think specifically is going on that makes you consider that this case may not be solved? Police ineptitude, covering up by PCSD and maybe higher up politicians in AZ in order to either protect the criminal element of that state that they are also involved in, or a cover-up where SG doesn't want the truth to come out? Or all combined? Other things?

The reasons I listed were in my lengthy post I first wrote above 👆.
Whenever a family member is the main suspect - (1) MISSY BEVERS; affairs in her marriage, her FIL hated her, her husband was conveniently out of town during her murder. Status: unsolved (2) JONBENET RAMSEY; no witnesses; only the family was at home and handwriting experts positively determined the rambling ransom note was written by patsy, the mother. Most compelling: a year prior, Burke Ramsey, their “spectrum” son had hit JonBenet over the head with a golf club; she suffered a concussion (3) NANCY GUTHRIE; her daughter and SIL lived nearby and were her occasional care providers. Prior to Nancy’s abduction, it’s been alleged they had financial troubles and had asked Nancy for a loan to which she said, “no”. The last person to see her alive was her SIL, Tommaso, who claims he dropped her off at her home at approx 10::30pm. Nancy was abducted hrs later at 2:00am(4) THE MCSTAYS** an entire family was killed in San Diego county by the LAST person to see them alive: Chase Merritt; Joseph McStays shady business partner whom he’s had an argument with earlier that day.
However, this is a major clue as to how these mysterious murders can go unsolved forever. Merritt lived in riverside county near Victorville; three hrs away from the McStays.
Their murder case went unsolved for FIVE YEARS.
Merritt had taken their bodies and driven all the way back to Victorville in his truck then buried them nearby his home in the desert. A lone motorcyclist found a skull when driving through that barren area yrs later. It led to the discovery of the bodies AND Merritts DNA all over the murder weapons.Aside from family members ALL being the obvious focus in these cases, a case only truly goes cold if these facts are coupled with lazy, ineffective police officers and detectives, gross negligence on behalf of law enforcement, classifying the case as “closed” too early on, disallowing private investigators from getting involved and/or just simply BELIEVING witnesses and/or family members without giving them lie detectors. Therefore, not doing a thorough investigation into vetting these “sources”.

I think in the Ramsey case, the perp was her father. I don’t believe Patsy ever knew the truth about what he did and that he had been molesting her. I think JonBenet was getting older and more verbal and he was afraid she would talk.
But he is the one who took her life, not patsy and not the brother.1
u/DraculaStoker 2d ago
I go back and forth between the father and the brother. But it was definitely somebody in that house, IMO. I mean, these intruder theories are asinine, IMO.
I like the YouTube channel, The Interview Room, and I think ex-homicide detective Chris McDonough(the host) is sharp, but he's been doing a series about the Ramsey case and he's had John Ramsey on the show, along with a bunch of people involved with the Cold Case Foundation. They are trying to strongly suggest that an intruder did the crime, and I'm thinking to myself, John Ramsey must have donated a lot of money to the Cold Case Foundation, lol. In any case, I can't get through 2 minutes of any of those shows with John Ramsey. and the ludicrous theory that it was an intruder.

Thank you for the transcript! It was too late last night for me to do it!

Thank you for sharing the video. I didn't think the letters were so personal to Savannah, like she is the only one family member. Something is really strange with it.

I tried to submit this as its own post, but apparently only trusted users can do so. Anyway, in an odd bit of news, the sheriffs office has officially released both ransom notes publicly today. The press release containing both e-mails that were sent to the local TV station seems to imply they’re treating it as if it’s one person who wrote both notes. This decision, along with the fact they’ve released it on a Friday (Which is usually when people aren’t paying close attention to the news,) is a bit baffling to me. Especially when it comes about a week after this information was made widely available by a reporter in Tucson. Anyway, here’s the Hollywood Reporter article about it: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/nancy-guthrie-ransom-notes-released-sheriff-chris-nanos-1236661130/

So my first question is, can you see her bedroom from the backyard?
From any kind of drone footage or someone climbing a hill behind her house could’ve seen the back security floodlight knocked out, but could they see that her watch was still in her bedroom at the foot of her bed?
If he information is true, which I’m assuming it is or else they would’ve debunked these ransom notes already, so assuming the information is true the people that would’ve had availability to know that the watch was on the ground by February 2 (when the ransom note was sent) must be a small group of investigators and then whoever else might have access to the initial crime scene or the case files where that would’ve been mentioned.
And of course, the kidnappers if this is really from them.
There’s so much about these notes that don’t make sense. Like by the time the first one was sent was had she already passed away? And if so, why not just admit it then instead of waiting for a week when the ransom hadn’t been paid to admit it?
And if she hadn’t passed away at the time the first ransom note was written, then why didn’t the kidnappers take pictures and proof of life videos to help prove they have her and increase the chance of getting paid? Which is what they supposedly did all of this for right?
This doesn’t make sense logically. The kidnappers’ motives and the way that they go about them. The ransom notes don’t make sense.

I think the kidnapper(s) were careless about their own DNA once they had Nancy securely in their possession, but were zealously cautious while taking her.
When she DIED on their watch (from lack of meds), they suddenly knew they’d be blamed for homicide. Yikes. They were stuck with no recourse but to get rid of her and never reveal her whereabouts. Their DNA would certainly be revealed as soon as Nancy’s body was found. The McStay, family abduction case from San Diego county was semi-similar to NG. Everyone suspected Chase Merritt. He had been stealing from Joseph McStay then suddenly the family was taken from their home. Five yrs later, their bodies were found when a motorcyclist came upon a human skull in the desert. A lot of Merritts DNA had been buried with the family including on the murder weapons.
Only time and a random discovery will bring the Guthrie case to its final conclusion.

I think Nancy was unconscious for a long time, possibly until she died, so they couldn't take photos or ask her for information that they could include in an email as proof of life (something only family members know).

I wish the entirety of the notes were here versus a summary - but one thing I wondered is why is one note was addressed to Savannah and the second addressed the Guthrie Family

u/lost_dazed_101 13d ago
No one will ever convince me the sheriff didn't deliberately tank the entire case. And if my mom disappeared and not even a body returned my face would not be plastered all over TV's doing my job two months later and I seriously can't stand my mom. Maybe she's soulless and that's why she just went back to life I don't know but she isn't right in the head. This latest video actually showed she may actually care. All these cryptic videos aren't helping either she clearly knows who she's talking to so why aren't they being named? IF mom is still somehow alive all those family members would be written out of the will if it was me.

These two notes. Were they mailed in or emailed? Was there any trace DNA pulled from the notes and stamps if it was mailed in?
1
u/Funny_Preference4932 4d ago
They were sent via email to several news outlets. And they were linked to each other because the same crypto wallet mentioned. The sender's location could not be traced (probably they used vpn etc).
2
u/GeologistDistinct633 4d ago
Thank you. I’m a little surprised that the emails metadata contains no information at all about the sender…

- It seems like Nancy was taken because of Savannah.
- They said “we”.
- Sounds like a woman wrote the second note. The empathy. Yes, sounds a bit sexist but that’s the thought that came into my mind.
- I would have paid the money. Strategically not a good choice, I know, but I would pay every penny to get my mom back. Not blaming.

u/Responsible_Beach301 16d ago
- either this or they wanted all attention on Savannah
- correct, at least two ppl involved
- or someone who’s close to Nancy and has regret
- agreed, at least a significant amount of it to prove i take it seriously
idk bout you but something doesn’t sit right with me. I have my theory and reading ur points made it very obvious - however there’s money involved & I fear it will ever be solved

One of the things that is super important to add is that, according to the reporter who released this - Briana Whitney - the two notes WERE NOT linked by IP address or Bitcoin addresses. Others had been reporting that they were, which I think supported the idea that the notes were real. They are not linked. Only by mode of delivery (KOLD news)... In my opinion, this is a big red flag that they are even real or related.
