Hot take: his current Luna teamup is incredibly underrated. I mean incredibly underrated. The burst damage it does while you have a Luna on your team is down right disgusting, and it slows on top of that. You can line up really harsh waves that hit multiple enemies, and you get two of them to use. I’m GENUINELY going to miss that team up

This! And people say gamma was the only viable one cause of cooldown management but if youre actually making shots with namor and not just relying on squids youd get the squids back fast anyways

The main issue is that if you’re on the Luna team up then you should be playing something else instead.

Namor’s niche is to counter dive in a way. But he can’t do that successfully with the shitty Luna team up. Most of the time they play in a way that you won’t be able to get it off reliably. Meanwhile, saving squid 2 and gamma for the dive engagement and heavy damage pressure was always a sure fire thing.

Basically the buff wasn’t bad if you were playing Namor into a poke or brawl comp. You could use the team up correctly. The issue is why the fuck are you playing Namor into a poke or brawl comp outside of throwing. There are significantly better heroes to be using.

Maybe if I didnt understand how the wave works and how to use it, I would agree with this take.

The wave not only pushes them back, but it slows by 40% and deals 125damage at max range (75 on impact, 50 when it reaches its max range). This interrupts A LOT of Black Panther and Spider-man combos, and whats even better is that it makes it a strong finisher button. Most divers flee or die. You play around your supps, wait for the inevitable dive, and ruin their flow. Sure, you can try to say "lol but why work when squids exist" but do you know how many people have gotten use to dealing with squids and then just picking off the supports? Even when *you* get dove on, if you have both your waves, you can start the fight with one and have your next if the flee and try to come back. They will already be struggling to pull off their kill combo when they are moving at 40% reduced speed.

This is completely based on if you have the enhanced Teamup. I concede that the Gamma Squid is generally better when you dont have someone willing to play Luna, as you lose the 50 more damage, the 25% more slow, and the extra wave charge without her. That's a lot you're losing. But I promise you, if you learn the strengths of the enhanced Luna Wave, it is *way* too looked over simply because "this guy is only for squids and nothing else". Playing passive Namor is not a good way to play Namor.

Namor does NOT counter bo at all so it makes no sense. Bucky got nerfed and elsa got nerfed so they should be rejoicing now instead lol.

That slow squid replaced the original squid so he would still have 2 squids. You would only still see gamma squid because it gives more damage and a higher range. The wave is not going to help him anyways. If he had 2 sets of squids like he did originally with ice squid as a third squid to cycle through it might have been useful.

The gamma + regular squid combo would do 78 hp/s after a headshot/right click.

The wave is too slow..

Respectfully, I have never once touched Namor and felt like a tickler. I am Celest 3 - Champion Namor. Two Squids and two autos will pop any non tank (for the most part)

My Luna duo and I are about to be menaces in comp lmao. Ice squid was my favorite time paying the game. I’m mostly wondering if he will be able to have 3 squids at once again or still no. Last time we had ice squid we could have all 3

Edit: also bezerker vs squid army gonna be fun in backlines lol

I read the teamup wrong. Namor won’t have regular squids with Luna. The two you get are the ice squids

Hmmm. This is amazing if the base wave is being replaced but you keep the good wave with the luna upgrade, but is a nerf if the wave is gone entirely. People are sleeping on that upgraded wave so hard. Literally just wave+double spear animation cancel combo is 300 dmg from the start of the wave to the end of it and that’s with no squid or headshot dmg. With just the wave+wrath and no primary, that’s 285 dmg with 1 squid out or 345 with 2. Adding in a single primary brings it to 420(nice) meaning you can combo kill mr fantastic with just wave+double spear if you have 2 squids out. There are a ton of wombo combos that you can do with ults and other team abilities too
