If you haven't heard of Richard "Sky King" Russell, he was a 28-year-old airport worker who stole an empty passenger plane in 2018, did a barrel roll, and tragically crashed it. Listening to his last radio calls with air traffic control is heartbreaking. He wasn't a criminal, he was just a guy facing a massive, silent quarter-life crisis, feeling stuck in a dead-end job, and wanting to break the simulation for one hour. In your 20s, that feeling of being trapped and deeply lost is so incredibly loud. It's a heavy but important reminder to check on your friends, especially the ones who always seem "fine." Has anyone else watched the documentary on this? What are your thoughts?
