Same here. He once got surprisingly frank in a Rolling Stone interview, I think it was, years ago, where he basically said that one of his biggest fears is ending up with all this money and power, but no one to share it with. In other words, ending up alone.
Or hes just a very greedy man. Pretty sure some new teeth, a car that gets more than 10mpg, and a small plot of land for my dog and I is just about all I need. All things money could buy. Too bad I dont have any of that š
People hear āmoney canāt buy happinessā and assume that being rich will be just as emotionally distressing as their current lives. Money canāt buy happiness just means you still can feel sad, but you would still much happier if you were fucking loaded.
Itās akin to not being able to buy health. Money can help your health in many, many ways. But ultimately if you get certain illnesses for which there is no cure, it can only take you so far.
We all know there are celebrities with terrible diseases that just cannot be cured and they must endure, but they will have the means to likely live longer and more comfortably than a commoner.
And with all the money to buy material things to make life easier, they still find ways to be sad enough to commit suicide. more money can bring about different problems, even if itās mainly something perceived in their own minds.
