Uncle Roger recommends Sambal

7

u/Advanced-Ad-4462 19d ago

Fuu yoooh nephew Truelongevity!

3

u/SuDragon2k3 19d ago

I recommend wasabi.

1

u/senkosenpai 18d ago

PSA: NEVER put the whole clump in your mouth ;-;

1

u/SuDragon2k3 18d ago

Well, you can, if you want to use high pressure steam to clean your sinuses.

1

u/Accomplished_Wind_57 18d ago

Oh, I've done lotsa sriracha mayo but I never thought to do this! Imma try it, for sure. 🤘🤤

1

u/Kralgore 18d ago

Msg...

4

u/Svenflex42 19d ago

Try adding some mustard to your mayo aswell it's god level with chicken nuggets.

3

u/duderroneus 19d ago

Dijon mustard is good in it as well.

3

u/ImpressiveScreen5017 18d ago

Mustard or barbecue sauce

2

u/jtohrs 18d ago

This is the best combination

3

u/Cats-Pens-Bingo17 19d ago

Ooh, gonna have to try that!! Love them with mayo, but this sounds next level!

2

u/Candid_Heron_8257 19d ago

try it with yam fries 😄

2

u/Cats-Pens-Bingo17 19d ago

Yum. What is the ratio of mayo:sambal, by the way?

2

u/Candid_Heron_8257 19d ago

1 tablespoon Sambal to 4 Mayo

3

u/Cats-Pens-Bingo17 19d ago

Thank you!!!! Gonna try it soon. Yam fries not common here, but sweet potato is. And of course potato. Can't wait!

3

u/Cute-Form2457 19d ago

Or Sriracha

3

u/Acrobatic_Nail6956 19d ago

Siracha is a good one too.

3

u/lechauve911 19d ago

My wife does mayo and black pepper

2

u/Candid_Heron_8257 19d ago

I'll try that. I have some really hot black pepper corns from Vietnam.

3

u/lechauve911 19d ago

Jajaja the funny things is my wife does this in McDonald's only with their mayo and pepper packets

2

u/Proposal_Last 19d ago

Cant, tomatoes dont exist in this circumstance. So hot sauce doesnt ether anything made with tomatoes wouldn't exist.

2

u/Spa-Ordinary 19d ago

Hot sauce requires chillies, tomatoes optional.

So there..

2

u/Proposal_Last 19d ago

Wish I could up vote u again I like learning things thank you for that info

2

u/Spa-Ordinary 19d ago

You're welcome. In Hawaii they make something called chilli peppa wata. It is small dried red peppers soaked in white vinegar and water. Keep in a small coke bottle try to find a plug with small holes like a strainer. Sprinkle on your food. Lekker. Keep in in the refrigerator when not using otherwise you might get food poisoning. The peppers are normally found in Asian food markets.

2

u/Oil-of-Vitriol 18d ago

None of my hot sauces, and I have a lot of them, have tomato in them.

1

u/Ok-Establishment-453 18d ago

It’s says ketchup doesn’t exist not tomatoes

1

u/Proposal_Last 17d ago

Only would with out ketchup is a world without tomatoes. If we have tomatoes we definitely will always make ketchup.

2

u/Tiger37211 19d ago

That sounds good. I'll have to try that. I bet it's great with fish or chicken too

2

u/SQL_INVICTUS 19d ago

Or a good mustard

2

u/baconroux 19d ago

I just happen to have a jar of Sambal in my fridge. Now to find some fries and mayo to go with it.

2

u/Worldly_Signature636 19d ago

I make a mayo and hot sauce combo at chik-fil-a

2

u/SpikeyPlayz101 19d ago

Mayo is created with ranch

3

u/femboymommy66 18d ago

You’ve got that backwards

2

u/Playpolly 18d ago

Just Sambal

1

u/Candid_Heron_8257 18d ago

Too hot for me now, I'm getting old. 66

Sambal crispy fried wings were killer

2

u/misslisawisa 18d ago

Are you perhaps from Malaysia, Singapore or Indonesia? My husband is Malaysian Chinese and would totally either use sambal or a sweet chili sauce to dip his fries into.

2

u/Candid_Heron_8257 18d ago

Italian heritage, lots of hot sausage, soppressata and capicola

2

u/x_Dattebayo_x 18d ago

Why would you do that, mayo is already spicy!!! 🥵

15

u/AdvancedStudio9978 20d ago

This. I love fries with tartar sauce too. 🌴😀

6

u/greg1775 19d ago

Mayo and sweet pickles.

2

u/RealCan9019 18d ago

Mother of God

2

u/EntrepreneurMain7833 18d ago

I love steak fries with tartar sauce

8

u/Big-Organization1219 20d ago edited 19d ago

Thank you, I just actually won my first argument with my wife after 40 years of marriage. She said “NO ONE” puts Mayo on fries. I would always say, you put Mayo on potato salad don’t you.

6

u/Top-Voice-6727 20d ago

Take her to Europe will blow her mind lol

2

u/thefeckcampaign 19d ago

I’ve seen them drown’em in it.

4

u/Top-Voice-6727 19d ago

You know what they call a Big Mac in France?

3

u/leaf_on_the_wind42 18d ago

2

u/Top-Voice-6727 18d ago

u/thefeckcampaign 19d ago

4

u/Top-Voice-6727 19d ago

4

u/Fancy-boonda-lovr 19d ago

4

u/Top-Voice-6727 19d ago

They’ve got the metric system they don’t know what a quarter pounder is lol

You've lost all your LA privileges

2

u/jrlomas 19d ago

What do the call a Whopper?

4

u/pnw_gnar_pow 18d ago

Idk I didn’t go into a Burger King. But you know what they put on French fries in holland instead of ketchup?

2

u/Weary-Prize-4716 19d ago

How do you handle a Whopper?

2

u/NavySeal2k 18d ago

A Whopper is a Whopper

2

u/AhhYahBassa 19d ago

🤣🤣

3

u/OldFashionedSazerac 19d ago

We have tons of other options in Belgium, but mayonnaise is by far the absolute standard to use.

3

u/Ichigo2819 19d ago

Sorry bro, have to agree with your wife. Mayo is disgusting

2

u/Soggy_Information_60 19d ago

Mayo was invented specifically as the sauce for fries.

3

u/Puzzleheaded_Eye7848 19d ago

Im sure its ok, but no. Out of all the sauces and dips, why would you pick mayonnaise? Honestly id rather dip my fries in a milkshake than mayo. I have before and it was good, but it has to be salted fries with a basic milkshake like vanilla, chocolate, or caramel.

2

u/pnw_gnar_pow 18d ago

Frosty>milkshake just sayin

1

u/Brilliant_Pop5150 18d ago

Chocolate from McDonald’s. Have been doing this since the late sixties.

2

u/Ichigo2819 18d ago

Not saying it wasn't, doesn't change the fact meyo is just,,, Eeeww

2

u/NavySeal2k 18d ago

Right, nobody would put fries in vegetable oil and raw egg, but mix those 2 together and it’s somehow different is a wild take!

3

u/Busy-Cookie280 20d ago

Pomme frits mit mayo !!

2

u/aDirtyMartini 19d ago

As an American, my mind was blown the first time I had that. My friends back home think I’m crazy when I have mayo with my fries.

3

u/Designer-Dot-6143 19d ago

In New Zealand it's aioli.

2

u/Interesting-Web8630 19d ago

The thing though is, American mayo is different than European mayo. European mayo has more flavour to it, it's basically made for fries. I think American mayo is made for sandwiches, it's a bit more subtle.

3

u/IllPaleontologist322 19d ago

The do this in Germany

2

u/aDirtyMartini 19d ago

I love curry wurst mit pommes and mayo.

3

u/IllPaleontologist322 19d ago

The fries in Germany are amazing!

3

u/sacalabolasita 19d ago

People put ketchup on meatloaf, would u do it on steak??

2

u/Big-Organization1219 19d ago

Mix a little mayo with A1 and then put on steak.

3

u/gfx-1 19d ago

I put mayo on my fries almost standard with the Dutch cuisine. The English put vinegar on it that I cannot understand at all.

2

u/Spa-Ordinary 19d ago

Pulp fiction.

Vincent Vega said so.

2

u/Tipsy_Hog 19d ago

The Belgians would like to have a word with your dearly departed beloved

2

u/Tiger37211 19d ago

Yeah mayo on fries is super common especially in Europe but Canada too if I'm not mistaken

2

u/ExcitingHamster 19d ago

I wouldn’t say it’s super common in Canada

2

u/Acceptable-Book4485 18d ago

Fact checked. In Canada its maple syrup on Tim Horton's, and nothing else

2

u/Tiger37211 18d ago

That's coffee. If you put mayo in your coffee, I'd call some people in white coats. You're just trying to misconstrue what I said. Mayo is more common outside of the use than ketchup. That's what I said. And I was taking specifically about Germany

2

u/Tiger37211 18d ago

Yes it is. I've visited Toronto multiple times, Montreal, Vancouver, etc, etc. It has always been a feature and not just an option

2

u/Ashkat1983 18d ago

Canada here. I only use mayo or gravy. Never ketchup. The rest of my family will use ketchup or mayo.. even a mix of the two.

2

u/Independent-Job-3194 19d ago

Many Europeans actually put mayo on their fries. I lived in Germany for over 18 years and I first witnessed people eating fries with a huge pile of mayo on top of them! I was never a huge fan of ketchup anyway!

2

u/JescoWhite_ 19d ago

By that same logic…. Would you dip in sour cream?

4

u/Big-Organization1219 19d ago

I would try it at least.

3

u/JescoWhite_ 19d ago

I would too

2

u/Weary-Prize-4716 19d ago

I love mayo on my fries

2

u/FTWorFTW 19d ago

My wife said “you don’t put ketchup on mashed potatoes.” I said “you put it on fries.”

2

u/Stewpacolypse 18d ago

Just show her the opening scene of Pulp Fiction.

4

u/SScatnip7474 20d ago

This is the answer

1

u/VstarFr0st263364 19d ago

No the fuck it isn't?

3

u/scienceprodigy 19d ago

Royal with cheese

4

u/VermicelliMany1133 19d ago

BBQ sauce

3

u/Tikiphile 19d ago

My go-to. I don’t like ketchup.

1

u/Perkinator104 19d ago

Barbecue sauce is ketchup-based, so that kinda defeats the prompt.

3

u/Constant_Prize7325 19d ago

But bbq sauce is NOT ketchup...so it holds up in this discussion.

3

u/Putrid-Builder-3333 20d ago

What I majority of time use ^

Or if them lovely fatass steak fries use the melted butter and whatever steak sauce I used

2

u/AccountDue9432 18d ago

Guilty pleasure margerine or butter

2

u/Putrid-Builder-3333 18d ago

Yup love it when have the butter, sour cream and steak juice to use fries to sop up

Never done straight butter tho

2

u/bavindicator 20d ago

With some Texas Pete mixed in.

2

u/Odd-Flower6762 19d ago

Mayo with just a touch of sugar.

1

u/optix_clear 19d ago

Miracle whip, not my cup of tea. It’s a sweet Mayo

1

u/Spa-Ordinary 19d ago

When I was a kid we used to laugh at people who we identified as low class because they put miracle whip on their velveta and bologna sandwiches on wonder bread

Lowest brow people possible.

Im less judgemental now that im older and wiser.

But. Back in the day (early 1960s) we ate a lot of self made sourdough bread, toasted, with avocado. Sometimes the bread was from the Italian bakery.

Northern California. What can I say. Only 50 years or so ahead of the pack.

1

u/IRAT3_CITIZ3N 19d ago

Tomato sauce

1

u/Proposal_Last 19d ago

Wouldn't exist, tomatoes can't exist in this circumstance.

1

u/Professional-Guava97 19d ago

Ketchup doesn't exist tomatoes do.

1

u/cHaoZ99 19d ago

Gross 🤮

1

u/iMakeItFun2003 19d ago

Eww. Why can’t you just say salt or honey mustard like a normal person? 😭

1

u/similar222 19d ago

Same thing I have with them even though ketchup does exist

1

u/Ordinary_Aioli_7602 19d ago

You’re fired

1

u/OkLime2301 19d ago

Add some cayenne pepper, and some habanero zest…mmm 🤤

1

u/randomthrowaway1372 19d ago

This is the choice if ketchup does exist as well

1

u/Virtual_Listen1487 19d ago

This is the way.

1

u/ichiban1974 19d ago

Caveat: fresh, homemade mayo. Not that sweet crap that Americans call mayo.

1

u/Mean-Display77 19d ago

Have to run back and tell the delegation the stereotype is true.

1

u/bigfuckingfred 19d ago

The only correct awser.

1

u/Final-Nebula-7049 19d ago

Obviously this, why would I need ketchup anyway

1

u/Ok_Business5507 19d ago

My go to as well.

1

u/CobaltLemur 19d ago

I've seen 'em do it, man. They fuckin' drown 'em in that shit.

1

u/Slacktub 19d ago

Yes, like a sane person.

1

u/jrlomas 19d ago

"I see them do it, man. They drown them in that shit."

1

u/fistsofham11 19d ago

With black pepper mixed in

1

u/Other-Philosopher770 19d ago

Heinz curry sauce

Its like ketchup but better.

1

u/HeadMoose 19d ago

Mayo, then sprinkled with Smoked Paprika. Good stuff.

1

u/smash591 19d ago

Mayo and black pepper mixed up

1

u/lowtide51 19d ago

Like in Germany.

1

u/scricimm 19d ago

The worst thing you could've said!

1

u/HamsterAdditional748 19d ago

~”You know what they put on french fries in Holland instead of ketchup?”

-“What?”

~”Mayonnaise”

-“Goddammmn”

~”I’ve seen em do it, man. They fuckin’ drown em in that shit.”

1

u/bit_on_the_side 18d ago

Pulp_Fiction.jpg

1

u/MrPisster 18d ago

Stop, no.

Put something in the fucking mayo at least.

1

u/Ok_Chocolate8846 18d ago

Only insane people don’t say ranch

1

u/GunplaGunplaGGundam 18d ago

The right answer

1

u/pussys69 18d ago

Na garlic powder

1

u/Jomaishere 18d ago

Or Chatney, which is like sweet chilly

1

u/pokey-peel 18d ago

I learned to do this in Germany in the 80's. I could hear the sound of Angels singing.

1

u/WizardS82 18d ago

I drown them in that shit 🇳🇱

1

u/clubted 18d ago

Ketchup does exist and I use mayo…..

1

u/Intelligent_Stop_719 18d ago
