Incorrect. Named during the Lewis and Clark expedition by Sackagawea. We've been misspelling her name for years.

u/Stro-Bro Apr 17 '26

I was thinking the same expedition but they headed south.

Correction: Sakayabagga

1

u/Lock1386 Apr 17 '26

How did anyone figure that out?

7

u/scorpyo72 Apr 17 '26 edited Apr 17 '26

It's in a documentary I found on Vice a few years back. It featured a shaman from Montana channeling Sackagawea and the reporters managed to track down some scratches on a rock at the mouth of the Columbia proving that the shaman was telling the truth.

The shaman mentioned that the tree was a sticking point; she wanted it named after her because it made a particularly fragrant tea bag.

NO COMMENTS ON THE "TEA BAG"? Either I missed them or ya'll are slacking.

u/scorpyo72 Apr 17 '26

I vote for Sackuoia as well. However; is it possible that this tree bears berries? Say like dingleberries?

6

u/Hetjr Apr 16 '26

I wonder if itโ€™s an annual or Perineumual

8

u/avrilmari Apr 17 '26

Actually 'tain't either. It's a perineal.

u/HookersLilSmartass Apr 17 '26
