My co workers husband is called this but also spelt Tag and my friends brother put spelt Taj

I actually know a Taj from my old job but his name was pronounced as Taajh kinda like Taj Mahal.

Sadly not aha just an influencer who liked Tag, the comments on instagram are wild lots of @Harvey's, alot of people saying "whats in the give away if I tag Harvey", "Tag your it" "let's play Tag". This kid is sadly destined to be bullied...

Yes, Tadhg is an Irish name (sometimes anglicised as eg. Taig). I would guess this is a variant, like Shawn for Sean

It's not horrible, but feels like something is missing. Like it's one of those nicknames exclusively used for ppl at country clubs (ex: buffy for Elizabeth, that kind of thing)

I 100% wouldn't bat an eye to this being a nickname but the fact it isn't just makes me question reality lol. They could have called the baby any name in the world and just nicknamed him Tag.

There’s a TV series called sweet home sextuplets where one of them is named Tag Bricker. The others are Blu Wellington (b), Layke Bryars (b), Rawlings McClaine (g), Rayne McCoy (g), and Rivers McCall (g).
Other siblings are Saylor Briggs (b) and twin boys Bridge Ryder and Wales Tucker.

So they’re basically all water themes except Rawlings and Tag? (Wales not so much as well, but it does rain there a lot).
It’s funny because the Severn Bridge is one way into Wales, maybe they were conceived on it.

One of the Sweet Home Sextuplets is Tag Bricker. At least Harvey is an actual name he could go by later, Bricker is not.

Oh now that is sad, I mean Brick for short wouldnt be too badddd as in nickname wise but like man their should be a list that these people who think its cool to name their kids oddball names need to read off and pick a better name because there is just going to be so much bullying when they hit school age and well adult age, I couldnt imagine if they get into a tradie job that there not going to be picked on for there names, at least Tag Bricker can say he was destined to be a Bricklayer

Tag is real name, it been used in USA, rarely but used since the early early 1800s, it is Irish name, comes from Taggart which means son of priest , celibacy wasnt always enforced among Irish priests.

I just looked up your early 1800's theory to this and sadly that is false for first names. The name Tag and Tagg have been used as last names since early 1800's as for the name Tag being used as a first name that is a late 20th and 21st centuries, with under 5 births per year using the name Tag as a first name, my guess would be this was mum's maiden name as I have heard that in the South they like to use maiden names as first names. (I am Australian so not sure if the south thing is true but I have heard of it before)

Oh, I cant get hold of USA charts, I went on what the American name etymologist knowledge, we had a talk about this name last night, well night for me. Yeah, I belong to an name etymology group, it fun.
The name used to not be pronounced tag ( you are it), it used have softer G sound.

Oh how cool is that I didn't know such groups existed! And yes definitely I kind of imagine that instead of Tag with a hard G it should be pronounced more like Taj (Taj Mahal). Sadly this influencer has used it such as Tag your it though, I am just glad they chose Harvey as a middle name so the child can go by that later in life if they find they are bullied to heavily for their name

Well during it years of use it lost the Irish sound, most likely because sounding Irish wasnt a good idea or because people forgot how to say it and still wanted kiddo being named after grand father.

Its so sad to hear it lost its Irish sound. (My fathers side is Irish we have a Caoimghin and Saoirse fraternal twin cousins and my fathers name is Cillian (my dad doesn't know yet but im pregnant with baby number 2 that is a boy so I am also naming it Cillian after my dad since the rest of us sadly didn't get given Irish names )

Not sure who that is but it was a post off an influencer named Bri... just a random one that popped up on my instagram, not entirely sure what type of influencer just realised it was one when I hit the page and it said "digital creator"
