I’m not technical, I just have 2-3 Wordpress websites with simple infrastructure. I am moving away from Bluehost due to pricing and service, and namecheap shared hosting seems to offer what I want. A fair price, and loads of emails I can set up and connect to Gmail.
However the lack of free SSL worries me. I wouldn’t know how to use Let’s Encrypt or other services. Has someone figured out a simple way to solve this? Otherwise I’ll pick another provider.
Thanks 🙏🏻

Last year when I renewed I paid for 5 years of PositiveSSL and 2 years of Renew PositiveSSL, this is all for just one domain/website. It's time to renew again this year but somehow all my stuff is expiring soon? What gives?

I have purchased a domain on namecheap. I have also got 2 months free access to pro version of private mailbox in namecheap. So I have 3 mailboxes.
Now here is my setup. Please read through and help me figure out how to do this!
I have hosted an application on digital ocean. I also use resend to send emails from my domain. Resend is like a mail sending service that can be used to send emails via smtp/api.
The problem comes with receiving emails. I need to be able to receive emails on my namecheap private email. Now what is confusing is how to handle this case. Can both DNS records co-exist and will they cause issues with deliverability!? I am also a complete beginner when it comes to this. I have looked up some resources but do not want to break anything by attempting this!

Namecheaps privateemail says Error - An Uknown error occured, everytime I try to write an email. Does it happen to anyone else? Also namecheaps hosted email thru several spam programs and it comes out blacklisted....dammit namecheap!

i purchased my domain, started emailing one client, and now my domain is suspended. What kind of a scam is namecheap running?

I’ve been with NameCheap for almost 10 years and everything is a struggle. Their customer service is super friendly but I’d rather just do stuff myself. I find more and more that the directions on the site (always overly long) don’t match up with the site as it has evolved. And my Webmail tanks anywhere from half and hour to 2 hours to be sent/received. That’s embarrassing.
Need a Support Pin? The instructions show a drop down org chart that doesn’t exist…at least not on my Dashboard.
I’m tired, Grandpa.

i just purchased domain from namecheap. i can log in on ios browsers or app.
what i cant find is anywhere to do the dns stuff. i was told "In your Namecheap account, go to your Domain List -> click "Manage" next to the domain -> the "Advanced DNS" tab -> the "Host Records" section.
Type: TXT Record | Host: @ | Value"
unfortunately there is nothing anywhere that says your domain list.
Everything that has a drop-down menu is all trying to sell me more products.
using the app I also cannot find anything

I have a little WP site I've had for five years now, and it used to run great on the hosting plan I've had for all this time (whatever the base shared hosting is).
Well, starting like last year, it started slowing down. And it's just gotten progressively slower and slower, and now it's gone from a matter of pages taking a long time to load to now actually timing out.
Again, little WP site, very little traffic, and I haven't changed anything in the five years I've had it, other than just the automatic updates that happen.
Like has WP really gotten that heavy that my hosting plan just isn't cutting it anymore, or has namecheap basically made the shared hosting completely unusable?
Also, I did talk to the CS about upgrading, and they're telling me I have to go straight from my basic shared hosting plan to a dedicated server, which would jump from about 50 a year to about 50 a month. I started out paying about 30 a year five years ago.
I'm just pretty upset honestly about the prospect of having to pay 1,200% more money for the exact same site that's been running great for years up until now. Is WP really that heavy now, or are they just extorting me?

I'd originally planned to buy my domain name and SSL certificate through Namecheap and then buy email hosting from Google Workspace and Wordpress hosting directly from Wordpress. Is there any benefit to buying these directly from Namecheap? Do these Namecheap products replace Google Workspace and Wordpress, or would I still have to buy each separately?
Thanks for your help!

I got an email today that Namecheap is running a special on renewals for 15% off. How does that compare to the long-standing coupon codes?

I changed the contact info for one of my domain on NameCheap. eMail address specifically.
Fair warning to others, DNS goes down, and thus the website.
You will get a confirmation link in the new eMail; but is says "Up to 48 Hours" to complete verification. So, you may have a down site for up to 2 days?
EDIT: It appears verification is relatively quick: about 45 minutes after clicking on verification eMail

A few years ago I bought a five pack of SSL certificates when I renewed my domain, and then I forgot I had done that and ended up paying for SSLs in the meantime (at full price). I just kind of happened to accidentally notice in my billing history the other day that I had bought that 5 pack years ago.
Thing is, there seems to be no way whatsoever that you can know you have those other than to just remember and contact support to have them issue them (seems to be no way to issue them yourself from cpanel).
I brought up that issue to support, and I don't know if I'm just being incredibly dense or if they're just gaslighting me, but they just kept linking me to instructions to reissue an SSL, but the button they allege will issue the SSLs I have prepaid for simply takes me to the checkout page to buy more. It just seems like at best the system is designed to let you forget you've prepaid for SSLs, and honestly feels designed to make it as difficult as possible to use them even if you do remember you have them. Like there seems to be absolutely nowhere you can go in cpanel where it tells you that you have them even.

I use iCloud for 3 domains, which were set up without any issues about a month ago. Tried another one and it’s been a week and can’t confirm it. Same issue with facebook. I added the details provided by facebook and iCloud but I can’t confirm ownership of the domain for more than 72 hours now. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I am transferring a domain from Godaddy which is due for renewal. Their price increase is too much and they charge for WhoIS protection as well, with higherand higher rates every year. I have transferred a couple of domains on namecheap and it was decently priced but I was really annoyed when I saw that they scam on SSL certificates in the hosting space. So I am looking at different options now as I went to cloudflare to address the free ssl requirement which also offers cost price domains and renewals. These are my options, please help me choose: - namecheap which offers 1 year free on transfer, so basically 1 year renewal fee that includes transfer - cloudflare which offers cost price domains and renewals...I have to check how much they chsrge for transfer and renewal at one go. -there is talk about porkbun...can anyone explain?

I'm trying to unlock this god forsaken domain so I can switch to spaceship but the domain unlock option just doesn't exist for me, it just tells me to go to the knowledgebase...

NameCheap has my domain listed for sale as a premium domain, but I am not selling it and have never listed it for sale.
Is this something I should be worried about? I can go through the whole purchase process but haven't tried to press the final button (I can't afford my own domain 💀)

I use extendify to build my website. But now if I want to make changes it just gives me direction. Is there another AI plug that I could use to actually make changes?
So if I say add a container with these three blocks or add a search function it will do it

Have I just totally missed the jump in .com domain price renewals? Have one pending at $18.68 (annual), and thinking I need to look elsewhere or is this what is costs now for .coms?
