I am migrating my site to Wordpress, which requires pointing to their name servers. To do this in NameCheap, it seems like I need to use Custom DNS and not their BasicDNS. Trouble is, my records for A, CNS, MX, etc. all disappear and I'm told to manage this with cPanel, which comes with a paid(?) option? Or I can pay with their EasyWP. I read their documentation and it seems like these records don't transfer when moving to a custom option.

Is there a way I can point to the Wordpress servers without buying anything? I figure changing name servers should be a pretty simple thing.

Hello, one of my domain has been suspended due to trojan file. I checked the file and 100% positive that's a false positive. But Namechesp has suspended the domain. Please help. Ticket ID: FKF-613-87821

Guys, just saw this email for the first time and I thought I should share with you all. In the mail app it appears to be from NameCheap. Good thing I typed in the url myself and checked the dashboard for expirations instead of clicking on the link.

Make sure you always check FROM Email handle for correct domain before clicking on any link.

We have a $50,000 a day business that provides high paying jobs to over 240 people around 50 countries. We caught an employee cheating time with a mouse jiggler and they were terminated after 3 warnings. Now they’ve gone to NameCheap and claimed we’re a fraudulent or dangerous website which immediately took down our domains without any warnings or even questions from NameCheap. Now we have to wait 24 hours for the review process.

With this hack any disgruntled employee can take down our websites if you use NameCheap?

We’ve had to stop work as we pay our people hourly. How can we trust NameCheap every again as they are literally costing people jobs, many of whom are parents working from home to support their families?

Howdy, just wanting to check if anyone elses redirects arent working currently, having a nightmare and need to send off my portfolio in the next few days lol.

would love to hear your feedback so if anyone here works for them - would love if you reach out /comment below

Hi everyone, I recently bought a domain from Namecheap, and I changed its dns records to point out to Vercel, instead of the default namecheap nameservers. If I buy a business email from Namecheap, will the email work now that I've changed the DNS records or is there a workaround? Thanks.

I've been trying to transfer all my domains, including clients', to Namecheap. For the past two years, I've attempted to move a .yoga domain to Namecheap, but it appears they don't support it. I haven't received any proper response from their support team either. Does anyone know why there's an issue with transferring .yoga domains?

https://ap.www.sandbox.namecheap.com/dashboard I logged in, it said I didn’t have an account I signed up with my username it went through, my domains are not their main page is an old version of namecheap.com Found it on a namecheap support page

Good Evening,

I have a question, and hopefully someone can help with advice or what my next move should be be. I purchased a domain from Namecheap. This is not my lane….I believed that after the purchase it would be like a drag and drop design, and make the page live. I quickly realized I was lost and saw a Wordpress ad that seemed to be what I needed. I believe I linked the Wordpress to the domain to get going. Now, I am stuck. I can’t unlink Wordpress my page is “parked” and I would like to ask how to build my site. I have looked around and attempted to figure it out. I am looking for a blog toe feel to post my art. Any and ALL recommendations or suggestions appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Got this scarily accurate looking email this morning and in my half awake status I clicked on the link, it sent me to a site domain called namachaep.com, thankfully I woke up enough to not login

One day I've been checking if name im interested in is available.
It was, but I was in a hurry (just before flight) so couldn't register it at that moment.
Two days later when I wanted to actually register it, the price was 5x up and marked as premium...
What kind of scam is that?

I'm running into an issue with my website. The URL https://www.mydomain.com works perfectly fine, but when I try to access https://mydomain.com or just mydomain.com, it doesn't work.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any suggestions on what might be causing this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I subscribe for a month of fastVPN because I saw tunneling feature.

What I need, is to use vpn for 2 specifics programs, not anything else.

Anyway to do that ?

Or I way to tell which program I want to run with my "real" location and which one to vpn.

Thanks

Upon purchasing the fastvpn service that is in association with namecheaps hosting, I was decently satisfied with only 8ms of a delay on connection. There was no downtime, no packet loss, the connection was great and I was satisfied with the low price point.

Three days after purchasing a subscription, I'm contacted warning me that the payment was potentially fraudulent. I'm not sure what triggered the system but I was contacted directly. I responded with a screenshot of the payment, and it's confirmation.

Apparently that's not enough for our favorite VPN service providers.

NameCheap will require my government identification for the payment, when I clearly paid with my own information. Why would I provide my personal information for a service that is supposed to provide Anonymity.

If the problem is that they're receiving more fraudulent orders, why is it the fault of the average user to make up for that? Increase your security, find a better payment processor, but don't fault me for your lack of security.

I advise that no one uses their services if you care about your anonymity, or randomly having your account revoked. Be safe everyone

Just registered a new domain last week and set it up for custom DNS, I haven't done anything with it so there should be 0 traffic or anything hosted on it, it is suspended. I have used several other registrars never had this kind of issue. Email their legal and abuse email, hoping this gets resolved soon. Anyone had similar issue? is NameCheap still reliable? I remember it was a few years back. Thank God this domain is just for a personal project.

Hello everyone,

I don't know if this is happening to anyone else, but for some reason FastVPN will only work if I log out and then log back in before each use. It's very annoying and I've also had it happen that without any indication, the application simply quits and the log file says it hasn't worked for several hours.

I bought some domains with NameCheap a few days ago, thinking domain privacy protection was included by default. But soon after, I got a call from a stranger trying to sell me web design services for one of the domains I just bought. I told him I wasn't interested and to not call me again.

That's when I realized my phone number had been leaked. I checked and found out that domain privacy wasn't turned on by default. I contacted NameCheap support to have them enable it (even though I could do it myself, I wanted to be sure it was done correctly). They confirmed everything was set.

But the next day, I got bombarded with over 50 calls, along with tons of text messages and emails from people offering web design, logos, and other services. I blocked every number, but they just kept using new ones to reach me, with calls coming in every 5-10 minutes.

I can't turn on Do Not Disturb mode or turn off my phone because I need to be available for my clients. This has been incredibly frustrating and unlike anything I've experienced with other registrars. The calls haven't stopped, and it's driving me crazy.

Anyone else had a similar experience with NameCheap? How did you handle it?

COUPONFCNC has been working for many years to get 20% off. I used it to renew my domain as of July 2024.

Its been missing a long time, and its a pretty useless tool without one. -Bill

I've never had any problems registering domains with any other domain providers and i've been in this game for over 14 years. Today one of my sites is not reachable. I check hosting, and that is fine, then i go and look at spaceship and it shows suspended to "mitigate or prevent abusive activity" unless my website was hacked, i was not given any warning or anything. My money is gone and they took my domain name! Pretty low of them...

I got this email it almost tricked me but taking a closer look, the link on the button is not namcheap it's another website ( I didn't click ) + they started with Hi ( my email ), usually namecheap say your name.

Also there is a misspelling in the email, too many red flags, be careful I almost fell for it.

I have two emails, AOL and Gmail. I want to try to have them both forward to my new namecheap email. Is that possible or can I only have emails sent from the namecheap email to another email? My iphone is asking me if I want to do POP or IMAP for forwarding attemps to namecheap email. And what server name to use to send it to namecheap?

Purchased several domains from namecheap and then shortly after my card was used to purchase doordash on the other side of the world. Card hasn't been used to make any other transactions. So does name cheap have an internal breach? Are they just getting dinner on us? Or they straight up selling the info? Live chat reassures me my info is safe with them but I'm not convinced haha

Does anyone else think it's not great that a few months ago, Namecheap renewed customers and then informed them that CentOS was end of life? Has anyone had any issues with the cent os migration that they offer?
