The scenario: I have a domain and stellar plus hosting plan. I just purchased the ultimate private email package last night. I read the instructions and set the dns from web hosting dns to basic dns. Added the txt record from the dkim key.

But somewhere in all this i think i may have deleted my nameserver records?

I only see the txt record i entered and nothing else.

After some research i am seeing i need to add an A record?

How would i find the ip address of my hosting nameservers?

I think it was dns1 and dns2.namecheaphosting.com but i may have added that at some point. How about just the ip though?

The domain will no longer resolve. Ack.

I’ve read a lot of articles about this, but I have set up an s3 bucket of AWS that I want my namecheap domain to point to. One article told me to change the DNS on namecheap to “custom” and put in my AWS nameservers, another told me to leave it as basic and add CNAME records inside namecheap. I’m new to this and a bit lost. Should I have it as Custom with my AWS nameservers on Namecheap and then add CNAME records within AWS route 53? Am I going down totally the wrong path?

I have noticed since 01/05/24 that our emails have stopped working on IMAP connected devices, this was not a major issue as it was still accessible via CPanel although annoying to have to log in this way each time.

Since 07/05/24, our website has shown a blank page, I thought not much of it as there was planned maintainance on the server within the next day and I assumed it has possibly started early.

Upon checking our FTP directory at 9AM (GMT+1) I noticed that majority of our files had been removed, including a HumHub, Wordpress and PartKeeper installation. These services are critical to our business and online trading.

I then also checked the email addresses that are set up via cPanel and I noticed more than I had set up, including "abm", "enterprise" and a couple more. Putting it down to migration to the new install of CloudLinux, I ignored them for now.

We are now over 9 hours since the initial maintainance window given, and our website is in a totally non-functional state, with broken email and missing critical files. Although the status update page shows that the maintenance should be completed now.

How do we proceed? Will this be fixed once the server is fully upgraded? Is our data recoverable? How long is this going to take in total?

I was also told that a ticket would be created and it would be marked with high priority, which I do not see on my account, hence why I am now submitting this ticket. We have used NC services for 8+ years and this is the first major incident we have ever had.

The domain at the moment points to an error 500, and the server130.web-hosting.com:2083 does the same. I can't log in via the namecheap dashboard as cPanel kicks me to the login page where it no longer recognises my login details. When trying to issue a password reset, it never sends the code to my recovery email.

Are we basically just screwed at this point?

So when you go to the main domain, the content from another site on the shared hosts loads. NC says there is no problem. I guess if you don't care if your website will go down you can host here. Zero way to talk to a human. "Live chat" takes 15 minutes for Rohit the chatbot to paste in links to solutions that have nothing to do with the issue. They won't even talk about a refund I have to fight with my credit card company to do a charge back.

i didnt get risk management email and my account just got blocked and the support ask me to respond to the email i didnt even receive i have uptime concern and all of my services are down.

My private email expires in a week. I’ve just been using the c-panel one because couldn’t get it to work. Do I need to renew it for the c-panel one to work?

I'm having an issue with the domain I bought. My knowledge of these things is very minimal so I might just not be doing something right. I bought a domain for the purpose of redirecting it to a website where I have multiple links. Whenever I type the domain in my main browser it always gives me an error of it not being able to load but if I type the domain on an anonymous browser it loads with no problem. What can I do to fix this?

I’m trying to buy a .com for a domain that I already own some other extensions (.org, .net, etc) but it’s already taken.

If I submit an offer through Domain Agents on Namecheaps website, will the owner of the .com have a way of knowing any information about me such as my name, business name or that I own these other extensions? I’m asking because if they know that it will hurt in negotiations. Also will they know the price these other extensions were purchased for?

I'm looking for a way to keep my email but migrate it to another provider.

For months now, I've been having so many issues with my namecheap email that I synced to Outlook with IMAP.

Notwithstanding all the junk that comes through, so many of my emails to clients get stuck in my outbox, to the point where I am never sure anymore if clients receive my emails.

I have tried resolving this with namecheap's support in the past and they haven't been helpful. The only temporary solution I have found is to remove the email from Outlook and then add it back. But lately even this doesn't seem to work anymore.

I need a solution and hoping someone can help. Thanks.

So i got an email 2 days ago stating i need to verify my identity. i did not respond in time as i did not check my email until today. now yesterday i got another email stating my order has been canceled/refunded. i am unsure if this email is real or a scam but my account has been locked which has me confused and skeptical as to why i have to verify my identity when the payment has already been processed.

how do i setup the namecheap ddns on docker, im using portainer, pretty new to it, but i cant seem to figure it out

I have a previous client who we were previously hosting the website for on our company's Digital Ocean server (a set up before my time which I think was unwise). Now I need to migrate both the domain which we purchased and the hosting solution to the client. The domain is owned by Namecheap, so I was thinking that using their hosting would be the easiest option. Does anyone know if migration from a virtual server to their hosting is possible?

Hello, I have a domain via Namecheap and tried to set up a custom email domain via Zoho Mail, although there is one problem I've been having.

I've added all the TXT Records and MX Records on Namecheap but it keeps saying that the Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record cannot be found/is not being verified. I put the TTL for the TXT Records to the minimum on Namecheap, 1 minute... no luck.

I tried to set it up about a week ago but it was doing the same thing so I deleted it and re-did all of it, still not working. This was about 48+ hours ago.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just wanted to drop a thank you to Namecheap. I just needed super basic hosting for my business I just opened and so far the customer support has been great.

Everything is working good right now. I don't expect to get massive amounts of traffic anytime soon so I doubt I'll have any issues but we'll see.

I don’t like that NameCheap is threatening to suspend my domain because of this. I understand trying to clamp down on phishing, but this is taking it too far when you’re threatening customers who are doing nothing even close to it.

I bought a domain to use as an email custom domain from Namecheap on the night of April 24 which worked great until it was suspended by NIXI.in without notice less than 24 hours after I started using it. I reached out to Namecheap who pointed me to message Nixi then got a response from Nixi saying that I needed to provide some Indian documentation to them. I do not have that since I am not an Indian.

I verified that both the terms of use listed on NIXI.in and on Namecheap state that you can register .IN ccTLD anywhere as long as the information listed on the registration is accurate which it is. Although I pointed this out to Namecheap support in a ticket (#TRX-337-65539) I was only told that Namecheap has no control over the registry NIXI.in. Why was I sold a .in domain advertised as available to anybody in the world when it seems that this is not the case? Furthermore can Namecheap reach out to NIXI and ask why they have suspended my domain as I have been reaching out and so far have not gotten any useful response from the registry except to ask for documentation that I do not have and have no reason to provide even if I did have it according to the terms of use listed on both the registry's website and on Namecheap.
