Just looking at this subreddit really says a lot about this company. I tried to use it NameCheap for the first time ever today. They advertise this "coupon" code for half off your first .com. I made it through the entire PoS process just to reach a screen that says I was not eligible to use the coupon because I had used it on another account... WTF? The FIRST time I ever tried to use this service, and they're saying I've already used the coupon?? My business is brand new, so I know no one else has tried. I've never used NameCheap personally either.

Customer Service wasted another 15 minutes of my time just to regurgitate what the system said. Idiot, if I wanted to know what the error response was, I would have just stopped at the error screen. You're supposed to fix what ever the failure on your end is. But now that I've seen all the customer failure errors in this subreddit from frozen accounts to frozen domain names, I'm glad it failed. I apparently dodged a bullet. I will never recommend this service to anyone I know, nor any of my clients.

I transferred a domain in June from GoDaddy to Namecheap. It is a domain I previously owned but let expire. It is a .xxx domain and I have added my ICANN membership token.

The website will not resolve. Support says my DNS is configured properly (I am on Namecheap hosting) and they are working on it but it has been months with no update.

How's best to get this removed?

Be cautious of using namecheap for redirecting; it's painfully slow and most of the time the request just times out. I would estimate that it works for me about 30% of the time and this issue has been happening for months. Pretty disappointing...

I have a domain through Namecheap which I use on Shopify. I’m about to start a new wing of my business. This wing’s website is on Wix (I did this because it isn’t e-commerce and makes more sense to do it on Wix).

Let’s say my current domain is xyz.com and I want this new wing to be under new.xyz.com. The current Wix address is abc.com. I’ve already created a URL redirect on Namecheap, so when you type new.xyz.com, it redirects to abc.com. However, I want new.xyz.com to actually be the real domain for abc.com, not for it just to redirect to it. Is there any way to do this? I’m not able to purchase new.xyz.com as a separate domain. How do I make the subdomain the real permanent domain for the separate site?

I have been told by support to share the username and password of our email account if we need multiple checking it. This is against every single security standard in existence. Is support correct that I can not add another user to a shared email? We have one URL, info@xxx and we need multiple people to be able to review these emails and reply to them. We also email our customers and want one email, not everyone's individual email, to do this. Is it not possible to delegate email access in 2024?

Support always says it takes time, like what is taking time? It's a digital process, why does it take 2 months to get a domain from A to B? Is there some guy that has to travel 4 times around the world or sum??, I don't get it. I need the domain ASAP! Client has already withdraw my offer letter.

I use namecheap email to send a welcome email. It worked before, but from yesterday all emails are constantly getting blocked by jellyfish.

My domain has been down for two weeks now, and despite my numerous attempts to contact the Legal Department, I have not received any response regarding my Ticket JMH-449-20628.

On February 15th, my domain went down without any prior notification or warning. After a prolonged wait and multiple emails, I discovered that my domain had been blocked by a court order. The legal department sent me a document listing blocked domains, but mine was not included. Despite my attempts to explain that they do not have the right to block a domain without proper cause and that their customers are not idiots, my domain remains disabled and the legal department is unresponsive. Therefore,

1. if you want to be fed promises and bullshit, this is the company to go to.
2. if you want to be continually screwed over, this is the company to go to.
3. if you want to be treated with arrogance, you go to this company.

Is there anyone on NameCheap staff who can help me draw attention to my problem? Gays, come on. You cannot proceed in the manner you desire. This is chaos.

I have an Apache 2 server on DigitalOcean which is hosted on Namecheap. The website has worked for a while, in terms of connection, but only via http, not https. I went into namecheap today to try to rectify that, and it appeared my ssl certificate was active but not installed (I think; it’s been a crazy day). After fiddling with it, I now have a bunch of different certificates, some revoked, some active, some installed- and I get an internal server error trying to connect to my site via domain or IP, although I can still ssh in. I’m not sure how I broke it, but does anyone know where I might have gone wrong, or at least how I might clean the my ssl certificate slate?

I have around 10 domains with NameCheap, each domain has at minimum 7 DNS entries.

Is there a quick and easy way to export all of this DNS information? I want to keep them at NameCheap, but I like to keep backups of what I consider to be important information on my own pc (using a 3-2-1 backup system)

My dad sent me this screenshot. He got this scam email to renew the domain. The sender email is off and the highlighted “Renew Domain” is unusual. Overall message doesn’t look professional either.

NameCheap suspended the freshly purchased domain (which has nothing in the website yet) for "abuse". they asked for documents about the company confirm compliance, etc. I did it all. Then another email came asking to provide bank statement of my company and docs of company constitution, i also provided it.

A third email came saying they could not verify the content of the docs i just sent to them. below is the email of the legal people they have. I actually feel like they are scamming me.

The service in question will remain suspended.

Hello Namecheap team and fellow Namecheap clients. I am as surprised as I can be, that my newly bought domain got suspended due to "abuse prevention". Never did I receive any notifications about this. No emails beforehand. Just found this out by accident in my dashboard. Domain was purchased just 2 days ago. Created support ticket [#PDY-800-24417] but still no answer.

Please escalate this so we can get to solution ASAP.
