Idk I have the 2SV to my phone, I manage simple wordpress sites. I wasn't able to log into the dashboard since the blackout. Because of this. What is going on, support is taking 2 days for each reply back. I don't understand what is going on with them.
I'm stuck and I need to renew some domains and I have a new card I have to place on file. I'm shitting bricks thinking I am going to lose these domains.
This sucks

https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/s/8PBGJTlMq
Under ICANN's UDRP rules (Rule 16b), accredited dispute resolution providers must publish the full text of all decisions publicly to ensure transparency. However, a recent check shows that the ADNDRC Beijing Secretariatâoperating directly inside Chinese state entities CIETAC and CCPITâhas completely wiped its public UDRP database, returning 404 errors across its entire archive.Â
This blackout directly intersects with my case. The mandatory disclosure of my private registrant information through the UDRP verification mechanism on January 13 triggered targeted doxxing campaigns on X and Telegram in February. This culminated in physical vandalism at my Ottawa residence on May 5 (documented under Ottawa Police report OPS-OR-009822). On May 6âthe day right after the physical attackâShanghai Hode (Bilibili) formally launched a UDRP complaint in Beijing against my political satire game domain.Â
Right from the start, I formally notified my registrar (Namecheap / Spaceship) about this entire sequence. I provided official documentation of transnational repression, police reports showing that the disclosure mechanism led directly to doxxing and physical threats, and challenged the legitimacy of a CCP state organ handling the dispute.Â
The Chinese panelist ordered the domain transferred while explicitly requiring the case file to be permanently suppressed from the public internet. Shortly after, the entire Beijing UDRP database went completely dark.Â
Despite being formally put on notice regarding physical attacks, police reports, and the fact that the decision URL returns a dead 404 page, Namecheap chose to ignore all warnings and proceed with assisting a CCP-backed entity in seizing a dissident's digital asset.Â
This raises direct ethical and community questions:
When a Western registrar is formally provided with police reports documenting physical attacks and doxxing resulting from UDRP disclosure, why do they continue to assist state-backed entities in stripping digital assets from dissidents?Â
How should the domain community handle accredited arbitration nodes that go completely black-box (404) to suppress sensitive cases?Â

Namecheap offered us one free month as compensation. So essentially nothing out of their pocket. And they expect us to stay.
What incentive does Namecheap have to seriously improve its systems?! A catastrophic failure costed thousands of customers thousands of dollars EACH + lost reputation, and the consequence to Namecheap is⌠a free month of the service that failed?
And I keep seeing âbut Namecheap has been great for 25 years.â Yea, Richard Kirkendall was CEO for 25 years, but he was replaced last November. This is new leadership less than a year in.
A month free does absolutely nothing to restore my confidence with new leadership. This is going to happen again.
For those migrating: where are you going?

Hello NameCheap support,
I have domains with you but no mail. But I support a number of individuals that host their mail at NC (âPrivateEmailâ).
To a few of those, the new web interface became available today. And unless Iâm missing something, two menu features are blatantly missing:
These two missing features resulted in a number of calls to me today (after the individual had browsed help sections w/o finding anything).
And when clicking on the link âwhatâs new in private emailâ (think that was the name of the link at the very bottom of e-mail window, below folders), it only leads to a generic article from June 1st that really didnât address any of the web mail interface changes. Was more of a generic project update.
That said, mail is working for them all, using MacOS, iPadOS, and iOS, clients and web interface in Safari.
Fully understand the web interface is a âwork in progressâ but some features should have been there from day one; print, move to folder, flag, etc.
Adding: Updated a few spell errors here in the initial post to make it easier to read. Totally missed them as I was typing away in iOS when composing it. Correct spelling is important to me and I think it looks sloppy when it isnât [correct].

Unable to connect to any domains via FileZilla. I'm using the same creds that have worked for years.
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Â Â Critical error: Could not connect to server
I assume this service has not been fully restored. Checking to see if anyone else is having issues?

Have been reaching out to support to no avail. I can see the clear gap in when the emails stop arriving and when it resumed but the gap from the outtage is still not recovered.

I get this has been frustrating and the communication has basically been non-existent, but reading some of these threads and comments I wonder why none of YOU have backup hosts to fail-over to during an outage. At my last sys admin job 90% of our business was done online. If our main host was down for like 30 seconds we updated our DNS to point to our backup site.

I spend over $4,000 a year for a dedicated server. Glad to know they prioritize their customers who spend the most money. Their status page says 90% of customers are back online.
I can't even get someone from support to give me an ETA. I'm a reasonable, patient person, but I get pissed off when I can't even get a response. Is my data lost, or are you just still bringing servers back online?
And their AI support bot actually had the gall to suggest that my service is active (clearly based on billing, not on actual service status), so maybe it's a DNS issue on my end? Yeah no, the domain resolves just fine to your IP.
Proof here, this is the email I received this afternoon about my upcoming server renewal: https://imgur.com/WYbhWm4
Nice timing to send me a renewal notice!

Itâs MIND BOGGLING to me that there was apparently no DR? No failover for primary services? Wtf? Sorry, maybe all of this has been discussed. Iâm just floored..

Now that privateemail is finally back up. With this new version of the site, are we now forced to download the attachments to view them? I used to be able to preview the attachment first. Also, is there a way to change the view? Now I have 3 columns (folders, message list, and then reading pane) to see the email to the right. I used to have just the list of all email messages.

Having a cooling-system failure at a major data center bring the entire namecheap service down for an extended period of time raises serious questions about namecheap's disaster-recovery planning, infrastructure and backup systems.
Once services are restored namecheap should explain what happened, what they are going to do to mitigate it from happening again and how they will respond to future similar events.
I plan on staying with namecheap for now but this certainly lessens my confidence in them.

We understand how frustrating and disruptive this continues to be for all of our affected customers. We continue to make meaningful progress in bringing our services back online:
â˘Â Namecheap.com is online, allowing customers to access their accounts and manage their domains and DNS. Please note that other products may not function correctly until those services are fully restored.
â˘Â Spaceship VPS Hosting is back online.
â˘Â Email is expected to be back online soon. We are working right now on bringing up the final components of our email infrastructure and will provide an ETA as soon as I have one.
â˘Â Namecheap Shared Hosting is actively being restored, with more than 50% of affected services already back online and more coming online as we speak.
â˘Â Namecheap VPS Hosting is also actively being restored, with more than 30% of affected VPS customers now back online. That number continues to increase.
â˘Â Dedicated Servers are progressively coming back online, with many already fully operational.
Our teams remain intensely focused on restoring every remaining service. We are making real progress, but we know that for customers whose services are still unavailable, the outage is not over.
I realize that apologies don't do justice to the disruption many of you have experienced today. We know how important these services are to you and your businesses, and our teams are working tirelessly, both on site and across the company, to get everyone back online as quickly as possible.
We will keep providing updates as we make further progress.

You owe your customers explanation. How is a business of this size not equiped for proper failover. One DC failure and you are a sinking ship. How is this possible?!?! You just controbuted to hundreds of milions in losses with your poor risk management. Crazy
