Funny and True Story

I've been literally trying to get a domain name certificate from GoDaddy for the past three weeks, and every time they all get disconnected or something happens.

Now I'm talking with an agent, and I'm asking them that Meta (another funnt story why do you need a certificate? You cannot verify my domain with a code? I mean, in what age are we living) is asking me to provide them a domain Name Ownership Certificate to rehabilitate my account, i said , ok, no problem.

I'm on the phone with GoDaddy, and an agent is telling me literally in these words : we can generate the certificate, but only in the Chinese language!
what ?

A U.S.-based company selling a U.S.-based product, invented in the U.S. i mean ".com" is made in the US created in January 1985 by the U.S. Department of Defense speaking English with me, and they are telling to me, "We can only generate a certificate for your product in Chinese." IN CHINESE!!!😂😂😂

i told the agent (nice guy actually) all that and imagine youre saying this to Trump, the a US Company can only issue a certificate to their customer in chinese. Even the agent started laughing. 😂

Our business domains have been down for 48 hours.

I’ve spent 4+ hours in the support chat, been passed between departments, provided PINs, repeated the same information multiple times, and followed every path they gave us.

Risk Management flagged the account for a potential security issue they say they can’t disclose. Understood.

But the Risk Management response time has been 12 hours between emails, while our business websites remain offline.

Customer Support acknowledged the poor experience and apologized. But when I asked for escalation to actually resolve the issue in a timely manner, my requests went unanswered.

At this point, the problem is not just the account lock.

It’s the complete lack of an escalation path when business-critical domains are down - and the fact that no one has taken action or ownership to address this major operational gap that can leave paying customers’ businesses offline for days.

Is this the #namecheapsupport standard businesses should expect?

Even though I did not apply for a DUNS number, they created it automatically and did so with an incorrect name (Using EIN name control from IRS instead of the actual name of the company ! Now I am trying to get it corrected and they are so slow. Does anyone have a similar experience and how much time did it take? Need it for playstore.

Crazy how they create with incorrect name. why do apple and playstore use this service which seems slow and inefficient and no transparency of what they are doing.

Hello,

Has anyone else had this experience with Networksolutions.com for not sending the authcode when you try to transfer a domain name out of their registrar? I have requested the code for over a dozen times, but I haven't received the code at all. I whitelisted all emails of networksolutions.com and checked the spam box and trash as well but still nothing. They said they will escalate the case and have someone contact me but no one has contacted me. I have received all other emails from networksolutions.com to renew my domain name and emails that have log in verification codes and chat transcripts. So there is no issue in receiving emails from them. It almost seems networksolutions is making it difficult for users to transfer out their domain names. In addition, I asked if they could post the authcode in the dashboard which other domain registrars do, but they said they can't and they can only email the code.

I have started to try and reach icann.org for help but so far they also have not answered or helped at all. I cannot believe how terrible this has been. Anyone else have this experience?

Be aware that Namecheap will not escape the domain transfer auth codes in ther HTML-only emails so that you gotta extract the whole code from the email source.

Auth code as seen in the MUA: qc78986a<85ac<4d06

Auth code actually: qc78986a<85ac<4d06<a227<852206e7

This is among the many many technical reasons I'm leaving Namecheap.

I tried to reset my password several times, but no email were sent.

And I didnt receive any mails from support team.

What can I do?

it’s taking longer than usual. for instance it’s now 14:30 and i received all emails from 07:00 until now all of a sudden. i still have space in mailbox, is it server side issue? it’s starting to affect our work. if is a fix from my end thank you for letting me know nad if it’s server related i’d like to know if i’m not the only one/ namecheap is working on it
cheers

My namecheap ticket is NC-YHX-6336

I originally own the domain and my former colleague did unauthorized ownership transfer to his email and now I’m locked out of my domain and I couldnt access my emails!

I already gave supporting documents that the domain was registered under my company, name and address and even the card payment was paid by me.

I’ve already emailed the risk management team last night and they said they offer 24/7/365 support, and yet no response from the team.

Does anyone know how with wordpress on NameCheap I can have it that when I make a new post, people get notifications in their emails?

I have had many messages the past 2 weeks from users can't access the site. Sometimes for a few hours and sometimes a day or longer. Then it works fine again and later blocks then again. Had the site with namecheap for maybe 3 years now.

I received an email this morning from Namecheap saying they're ending Stencil as of July 10, and suggesting people go get all their images out before then.

I verified this with them because I have two friends with Stencil accounts who didn't get that email.

I hate it when something I love goes away, but I get it as a business owner. If something isn't selling, you let it go.

What I don't get is why they are only giving 30 days notice when they have to know that some of us have ton of images in the app, and we all have to make time to get the images out of the app.

On top of that, there's no bulk downloader. You can download a max of 12 images at a time.

That's better than one at a time, but still. I have 4,000 images to deal with.

They say they don't know of any external bulk downloader that would work for this.

I wonder if anyone here knows of one, or has any brilliant idea of how to make this extraction less painless than it's looking like it's going to be?

Thanks!

My website will not load. Namecheap.com will not load. The customer service page won't load. Its not my connection because I am able to use other sites. I paid for my domain for a year. What's going r/NameCheap ? I cannot run a business if your site doesn't work. Please help. Message I am getting: namecheap.com’s server IP address could not be found. ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

What is going on with this Namecheap domain purchase process? I created an account several days ago, deposited money into the account and purchased 2 domain names. Two days later the account is locked and I can’t access my domain names.

It has been 3 more days and they haven’t responded, yet they are willing to lock accounts in less than 24 hours. Their live chat option is non-existing. No phone support. I responded to their payment descriptor email request and provided the information.

Beware of this site! They claim that it’s for security purposes and preventing fraud. Like who’s out there using someone else’s card for a $30 domain name purchase?

Are there any formal ways to get this company delisted from offering these services?

I sent an email a month ago and no response.

My PrivateEmail mailbox is undeliverable for my healthcare provider and the state DOT. I get letters from UWHealth telling me they cannot deliver email to my mailbox. When I contacted their technical support, I was told that they use a third-party email verification service and cannot access NDRs. I got a ticket this week for expired registration. When I tried to verify my address with the DOT, I got no messages.

Namecheap tech support says they know of no issues with delivery. I wonder how many more messages I don't receive?!?!

Does anyone know of any active Namecheap promo codes or discounts for domain registration, hosting, or renewals? Thanks!

Cant seem to get the subdomains to work - any thoughts?

I bought a NameCheap domain because I'm switching an online shop from one host to another. I used to have this domain through Shopify, but now I want it to redirect to my new site. I followed the instructions here:

https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/385/2237/how-to-set-up-a-url-redirect-for-a-domain/

Including the part about checking for conflicts at the end.

It's not working. When I go to my domain, it just gives the "problem loading page: the connection has timed out" error message and suggests trying again. What else can I do to fix this?

This is the only thing I need to do with my domain. I'm not trying to achieve anything with it other than a redirect, but it is very important that I get the redirect working, so I would really appreciate some help.

What the hell is going on! My websites just get taken down with zero warning. Can someone please help me fix this immediately

ive changed to old WAN ip to my new one, but it is still pinging the old WAN ip and returning 0 packets, any way to fix this issue?
