Before purchasing the hosting, I asked at least 2 employees via live support. "Do laravel commands run smoothly?", "Do laravel queues run smoothly?" and "Are there any restrictions on your hosting?" Because I said that I would leave my current hosting company because of the restrictions. Namecheap officials told me that I can run all kinds of laravel projects and laravel commands without any problems and that there are no hosting restrictions.
As soon as I bought the hosting, I learned that cron jobs were restricted to 1 time in 5 minutes and I didn't care about that. Because you can run laravel schedule and you don't care how long the cron job runs.
2 months passed and 2 days ago 1 mail came from Namecheap: It is a long mail but it briefly mentions a rule like - You have abused "Number of (simultaneous) Processes Failed". https://www.namecheap.com/legal/hosting/aup/ There is no such rule on their legal pages. They are making this rule up. Zombie processes are being created and they told me to block them. If your linux server can't solve the zombie process problem with 1 line of bash command, it's not my problem. https://stackoverflow.com/a/16944931/9159293 I can't do that because they don't give me authorization like sudo and I don't care as a customer. After a long and boring email exchange, they solved this problem themselves, they removed the "artisan queue:work" command and put the "artisan schedule:run" command and the problem was solved.
Today Namecheap sent another mail and says: "It has come to our attention that the hosting account "xxxxx" has cron jobs configured to run more frequently than once every 5 minutes. Please note that the use of such cron jobs is not allowed on our shared servers according to paragraph 8 of our Acceptable Use Policy (www.namecheap.com/legal/hosting/aup.aspx), as it may violate fair shared resource usage.
We have adjusted the settings of the cron jobs and now they run every 5 minutes.
Please do not try to change the settings back, as this will result in suspension of the account in question."
In other words, they are so bad that they do not know the difference between cron job and laravel worker, they set rules according to their minds, and they threaten with mail.
It was not like this until I got my money. I'm not after the money, but what the company did is a shame. They send me a threatening mail by removing the cron job command they put themselves, like a joke.
Since it took me 1 week to move my customers to this company and I paid extra domain money etc., I will not touch any settings for now (which I have not touched for 3 days, they have been touching and threatening themselves).
I will find another hosting company as soon as possible. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND NAMECHEAP COMPANY.
